This an old hotel in the very center of London. The rooms are small, clean enough but not very comfortable. The common areas are simple and basic. Breakfast is very boring with no fresh fruit and low quality ingredients. The staff is very unfriendly, especially the receptionists. The room was paid by UCL in my case with a special price....

I have stayed at the Tavistock many times over the years. My first impressions, I have to say, were not favourable but the staff have always been friendly and extremely helpful so I persisted. The hotel is now very comfortable. Much has been done to improve the soundproofing and the rooms have been refurbished in a pleasant Art Deco fashion....

Not bad but also nothing special. With a old look, rooms a little bit smal but everything working ok. It served its propose! A few good nights sleep and that's it. One nice thing is the pub inside the hotel for a last drink before bed.

I've stayed here quite a few times and reviewed it before but they've refurbished the bar and made a few other changes recently so here goes again. It's still a great value Hotel. When I'm here with work I often stay here as it's well priced. If we're here to see a show or something I usually book the President...

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is a plain tourist hotel at great value for money. I stayed in a single room at floor 8 with windows to the street. It is true that the windows are thin and let a lot of street noice through and it doesn't get better from the fact that the adjacent road seems...

This is still my regular London hotel but we hadn't been there for a while. The bar has been refurbished, but sadly Jacque's Wine Bar has closed. But it's a great hotel and we will continue to stay here on our L visits.

The recent visit to London was very pleasant with a few issues. The hotel is located approximately 5 minutes from Russell Square which is very convenient. The hotel staff were generally friendly apart from the time we were asked to present our passports as she had assumed we were from another country. The hotel was clean and is a nice...

Stayed here Friday to Sunday...very friendly staff, room was lovely - double room en-suite...very clean and looked after...tea and coffee making and bath products in bathroom. Facilities for getting bags kept on day of leaving so we dont have to take with us as our flight was late at night. Would definitely stay here again if in London.

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum.
