My family and I also stayed at the Harlingford Hotel during the time the hot water boiler went out. While it was certainly an inconvenience, the hotel staff were very gracious in trying to get it replaced, and at the end of our 3-day stay, we were unexpectedly credited 60 GBP on our bill for our willingness to stay on...

The room and location were fine, but I was shocked at the rudeness of the front desk staff. The water in the hotel went out for 24 hours -- when I went to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager, I was told that the front desk staff could not give me the managers name. This is...

I must say that this hotel is an absolutely amazing find. The prices are amazingly low for a central London hotel and it is situated quite nicely between two Underground stops (Kings Cross and Russell Square). Plus the neighbourhood is quaint and feels quite cozy. There are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby which offer a variety of places...

The hotel and room are very clean. It looks to me as if they've made an effort to modernize and clean up the hotel based on what I've read of others' comments. I agree, though, with the comments about the disaffected, seemingly Eastern European, can't be bothered desk staff . ...although after an encounter with the man I presume to...

The facts of the event are these; the American woman travelling back from China, stayed several nights before this incident, she occupied a double room at a single price. On the night she tried to sneak into her room a man late at night, the receptionist saw this and informed her that overnight guests were not allowed. When I was...

Stayed at the Harlingford for one night before catching an early Eurostar. This meant we had to leave before breakfast but the staff kindly told us that a cold breakfast would be available early if we wanted one. This was very thoughtful and appreciated, although a few extra minutes sleep won over breakfast so can't comment on it's quality. The...

We stayed in the family room. The quarters were a little tight for 2 adults and 2 teenage boys but we were not in our room all that much. The neighborhood is safe and quiet and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The tube stop is a short walk away. The bathroom was modern and clean but very small. If...

This hotel stands out on a street where every door is a hotel entrance. They provide free wifi, great breakfast and the staff is very helpful. There is a gathering room that is nicely equiped with a computer and books to read. The owner worked with me to help me book other hotels around England.

There are loads and loads of hotels in this area, all much the same price. The Harlingford has been refurbished and is one of the better ones. Remember that most of these hotels have been converted from private houses. They are tall, thin buildings and the rooms are sometimes small, sometimes oddly shaped. The Harlingford is quite quiet because the...

I stayed in a single room in this hotel for two nights, The room was on the third floor : there is no lift and the top flight of stairs are narrow and steep. However the room was small but clean, well furnished and very quiet. Breakfast was excellent - good choice of food and the service was efficient. The...

We've always stayed in this hotel on our trips to London since we came across it 3 years ago. It is by far the best hotel in terms of location and price. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is lovely and Zizzi -the resident cat- is such a cutie! It is so close to Euston & Paddington station,...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
