This is the 2nd stay I have had with the Brewery, it is a lovely hotel, the suite that I had on both occasions were thanks to a certain young lady called Alice. To be fair all the staff are extremely helpful, and everywhere you need like the tube station etc is within walking distance. All in all I would... More

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago whilst attending an event at The Brewery. On our way to the room at 6 pm noticed a tray of partially eaten food outside a room opposite.. The remains of Room Service. Returned to the room shortly after midnight food remains still in corridor outside room 6 hours later. Having been herded out... More

I stayed at the hotel on a business trip. Loved the atmosphere. Very helpful and pleasant reception and staff in general. Breakfast was very good too. What struck me as most impressive was the mobile telephone they provide for you(in every room). No need to worry about roaming charges. I was able to make phone calls and have internet for... More

Very nice room, cozy and comfortable! The Location was not bad at all. 10 minutes away from Oxford Street. The staff was very helpful and professional. I definitely suggest this hotel as a top selection when it comes to London.

The staff was super helpful, every time I asked for something, they went out of their way to assist. Walking distance to 2 tube stations. You can find a couple of nice places to eat nearby and the Hotel has a great bar-restaurant.

It's somewhere in between really...it's not average and it's not very good. Reception area and service there was great, easy check in and got shown to my room which was a nice touch although once I got there, I realised there was no way I would've found it on my own...! The building is a bit of a labyrinth a... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, and I have to say it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I was treated to a luxurious service the second I walked through the door. Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As one of London's most notable hotels, The Montcalm at The Brewery London City is essentially the spot to be in London. Positioned in the very heart of the city of London, The Montcalm at The Brewery London City is a five star hotel set within an historic listed building and comes complete with its very own gourmet gastropub, The Jugged Hare. Formerly the site of Whitbread & Co, Britain's first purpose-built mass production brewery, the original building dates back from as early at 1750 when Samuel Whitbread moved his brewing operations to Chiswell Street on the 'eastern rim of Georgian London,' now the fashionable Barbican. With state-of-the-art business conference facilities plus excellent transport links - the hotel is conveniently located close to three Underground stations - The Montcalm at The Brewery London City makes the perfect meeting venue, accommodating from 2 up to 150 delegates. And of course it offers luxurious suites, deluxe studios and City or Club rooms as well as acclaimed English cuisine at the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms. ... more   less
