Location is just a 5 minute walk from South Kensington tube station. Walk along Old Brompton Road until Queens Gate and the hotel is just across the road on the left, opposite the Kensington Hotel. It's a lovely neighbourhood with coffee shops, bistros etc. You'll feel perfectly safe walking to the hotel. Staff at the hotel were outstanding, friendly and... More

An enjoyable stay while visiting the close by Royal Albert Hall spoiled by an uncomfortable bed. We had booked a table at the RAH but should we return to this hotel will sample the dinner menu as the breakfast was very good, reception and bar staff were faultless and the room clean and pleasant. A new mattress would have lifted... More

Easy to find, with plenty of restaurants near by. Good check-in and lovely warm cookies. The room was smaller than expected for a 'Superior room' but it was just for one night. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but even with the heating off in November, it was so warm that we had to have the window... More

I reviewed this in Feb 2016. Still in the same great location, close (5 min walk) to the tube with restaurants (even more) between the hotel and the tube station (South Kensington). Note that the South Kensington tube stop is on the Picadilly line which starts at the Heathrow airport (no changes!). If you have baggage, this is a big... More

Average hotel aligned with the Doubletree brand. Clean bed and room that had just enough room for the bed and a small desk. We didn't try the breakfast or bar so no comment on those. The hotel is in a great location - two blocks from the Tube and many restaurants nearby. For those who like to walk, Kensington Palace... More

Have just returned from a fabulous stay at this hotel. It was a surprise trip for a friend's birthday and I had informed the staff of this on booking. We were given free drinks vouchers and a small cake was delivered to the room with compliments of the management. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff members... More

My daughter and I spent four days in London. The location was great. We always felt safe. We were very close to everything we wanted to see!! We could walk or take the Underground. The closeness to Gloucester Road gave many conveniences. We will definitely consider staying here again. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were very welcoming... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
