The Gate is an excellent aparthotel with great service. I think I stayed at the studio. Gabrielle, Jamal and other staff always greeted me whenever they see me with the warmest smiles and make me feel home. The room is cozy and clean. Although the towel rack was broken when I checked in, once I tell the staff they had it fixed fairly quickly. The room was cleaned briefly every three days and thoroughly every 6 days. Although there was some miscommunication, the staff quickly arrange a cleaning for me right away. The amenities from LE LABO is great! The oven and microwave is so convenient as there is two medium size super market just across the street. Just a reminder the mini kitchen does not come with a stove or washing machine. It did come with a nespresso machine which I apprexiate and they replenish the capsules when they clean the room. The location of the hotel is awesome. It is less than 5 minutes walk from Aldgate East(district line/Hammersmith and city line). Though the line was shut down during the strike, it is also just 15 minutes walk from Liverpool Street station or white chapel station. When the tube was down, I enjoyed such a nice stroll as it is within walking distance basically to attractions on the east. It is right next to Bricklane and Spitafield market which you can spend a whole day. It is also very close to walk to the Tower of London, the tower bridge, HMS Belfast! If you don’t mind walking a bit more, we did a day walking to duck and waffle at bishopsgate, then walk along bank station and reach St Paul’s cathedral. You can also walk to borough market if you want, but we took the tube for one station and got off at monument and walk across the Thames on the famous London Bridge to borough. The location is unbeatable. Although the internet was done for a night when I was there and the AC was down the last two days, the staff had so kindly refund me a night voluntarily and apologize for the inconvenience caused. I will definitely be back!

We stayed for 8 nights in London at The Gate Aldgate. It was so accommodating. Our first night Yaroslav was so generous and helpful. They even printed our concert tickets for us free of charge. Clean and so beautiful. Everyone who works here is so friendly and kind. Lovely 5th floor terrace lounge area with complimentary coffee and waters. Highly recommend a stay here. Thank you, The Gate!

Loved the area, decor and design of this hotel. Our stay was very nice and the staff were professional. Only drawback was the happy hour from 5-7. We were looking forward to it in only to find out the machines were down. We only stayed 1 night. Otherwise very cute and chic hotel.

This hotel boasts exceptional elegance from arrival through to departure. We stayed for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment and everything was amazing from start to finish. Our apartment was excellent, with the added bonus of a washing machine and a dishwasher - which we did not expect. The hotel was spotless, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The location is brilliant, close to Aldgate East station and just 2 minutes walk to Brick Lane. We will definitely stay here again - everything was 5*

Visited here for a theatre trip through EF tours and I loved the service the hotel provided. All of the staff were understanding and helpful with things such as directions, regular and good quality room service. The 5th floor lounge was also a welcoming space and the employees on the floor all provided quality and timely service when it came to providing the traditional English breakfasts. The hotel is also not far from grocery stores and attractions which is nice. Highly recommend for anyone who can afford and is looking for a nice hotel to stay at for their time here.

We recently stayed at the Gate London for three nights and chose it for the location and access to the tube, room size and uniquness. Check in was faultless with the team being flexible and accommodating after our long flight from Australia. Our room however was dissapointing and in our eyes, certainly not the standard of "luxury" as promised on the website. The apartment was very tight, oversized furniture for the space in the living room meant you could not use the dining table without blocking the space completely and storage for luggage non existent. The floor rug was stained and the soft furnishings marked. Its tired and needs a good freshen up where attention to detail and practicality takes precedent. The room was not serviced which we were told on checkin. The guest lounge and terrace were great areas to relax although the door to the terrace was locked both times we tried to access it. It has great potential but for us when travelling practical room design from a travellers perspective should always be considered over that of an interior design solution.
