We stayed at the Kensington Close when we travelled to see the poppy display last year but one so knew what to expect. All the staff are pleasant, helpful and professional and this immaculately clean hotel is in a great location. The transport links are only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel which means you can be pretty...

The staff was friendly and very helpful during the 3-night stay. The hotel is situated close to High street Kensington station which is very good. We had two connecting executive rooms (two adults, two teenagers). The rooms were not "executive" in my opinion, small room with no extra chair to relax in, and a small bathroom without heating. The rooms...

Stayed at the Kensington Close hotel for a work trip and really enjoyed it. It has a gorgeous lobby area and the staff are very professional and helpful. I asked for a quiet room and that's what I got, thanks to Nicola in reservations for that. The room was small but well equipped with a comfortable bed. Great toiletries and...

We arrived into London Wednesday morning, tired from carrying our bags around we decided to go to the hotel to see if they could look after our bags whilst we did some sightseeing and To our surprise they let us check in 4 hours early! We were so grateful of this and were already impressed by the friendliness of the...

Good overall although even superior double rooms were pretty small. There was a bath but again all quite a tight fit. The breakfast was excellent but the one evening meal we had there was disappointing. Extremely slow service, there may have been a particular problem that evening but each course took forever and the main course was cold. The manager...

Kensington Close Hotel is well placed just off Kensington High Street. It is absolutely enormous and the walk to your bedroom down long corridors can take several minutes. The rooms are tiny and more the standard of a Premier Inn ( although the beds aren't nearly as comfy). So accommodation is basic at best. Although the bathrooms are clean and...

This is a great hotel for the price and location but they think it's acceptable to charge a service charge for having a drink at the bar! I had a bottle of Peroni which cost £5.50 (already overpriced) and when I looked at the receipt I had a 69p service charge added. I queried it with the girl on the...

This is a large hotel with hundreds of rooms!!!! Well, here we are recovering 3 moths later after a couple of nights in November. The 'Hotel' was quite central, off the main street, so location was passable. However, the room, the room, the room!!!!!! Here they have probably taken one large room and divided it in 4, or5, or 6!...

Having just returned from Barcelona and staying at 2 wonderful hotels, I knew that this hotel would not live up to the standard or value for money of Barcelona. Public areas were fine and the welcome at reception was good. The room was small but acceptable, but the bathroom was rediculously tiny. But this London, and i can think of...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
