Just returned from our two weeks in Europe. Spent 4 nights here, yes the bar and lounge and reception area is very nice and large but the rooms what a joke. The room was clean but small, very small I have seen closets that were larger, they charge to use the internet and the pool, in this day where most...

There were a multitude of reasons why I did NOT like the Kensington Close and would definitely not recommend. Really the only good thing about this hotel would be the location, very close to High Street Kensington station (which incidentally does not have an elevator, in case you plan on staying long with large luggages). My main complaint about this...

My experience was pretty good with good service and great food. Observe that I only ate breakfast at the hotel and not dinner or lunch. The rooms were a bit small for a twin room. It was luxurious and neat but it didn't include Wi-Fi and you had to buy a pass for 10 pounds for 24 hours. Which only...

I was given a mediocre service as soon as arrived. The concierge made a comment that I hadn't made a request for a twin room early enough when the app didn't allow me to. At the time two separate guests said their luggage was lost and another gentleman said his room was substandard and had to be moved. They didn't...

I have just got into my twin room with a colleague from work and we both immediately started laughing hysterically at how small the room was. I honestly believe this room wouldn't be big enough for a single person and to think after the price we paid we were expecting standards similar to a royal suite at the Bellagio. To...

Stayed here with Gate 1 travel a total of four nights at beginning and end of the tour. Location was perfect for walking to Kensington palace and gardens,Hyde park and any number of coffee shops and eateries. Room was larger than expected and very comfortable. All staff I talked to were professional and prompt in responding to requests. Breakfasts were...

Nice, clean. Near train station. Small rooms. No fridge or minibar. Breakfast standard low quality english. The total killer and the reason for low score; you have to pay 9 pounds pr. day for wifi access pr devise. As a business traveller this is an absolutely no-go and a ridiculous way to rip the clients.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for a weekend break and yes the hotel was reasonably priced and it was clean and location was fairly good but none of that matters when all staff members we came into contact with were extremely poor.. The Kensington Close is in an excellent location being close to transport links (tube and bus a short walk away) and Kensington High Street is a great shopping area. Also, the Design Museum will open soon on that street. The hotel is big and the rooms are particularly small but for location and reasonable price (for central London), this fits...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
