Stayed in this hotel for two nights over the Easter bank holiday as it was within striking distance of the Royal Albert Hall which we wanted to visit. There was a warm welcome, and check-in was quick and painless. The free welcome drink was overlooked as Cava and "cocktails" are not our thing. The room was clean and airy with...

I recently stayed at the Kensington House Hotel to see if it was as good as its sister hotel The London Bridge Hotel - sadly not. Whilst there was nothing of particular issue or concern, it just fell short of the quality of service from its sister hotel. It is these finer details that make of break a hotel.

Although well-located in Kensington, particularly for the Royal Albert Hall, I found the hotel to be disappointing. When we arrived we were given an 'upgrade' to a family room on the lower ground floor. This room turned out to be very basic, having inadequate blinds instead of curtains, single glazed windows and thin walls, all of which contributed to a...

The hotel and the rooms lacked the luxury feel of the London Bridge, it's sister Hotel. A building project next door did not help it's location, the noise started before 8.00am and did not finish until after 6.00pm. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and catered extremely well with my Wife's food allergies. The Hotel location was great for...

I stay at this hotel whenever I'm in London and have the chance to select the hotel. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is pleasant, the neighborhood is great - quiet streets, good restaurants and busy shopping streets are all right around the corner. However, the most important is the charming hotel itself.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of August 2012 and I must admit that I found the location fantastic, staff extremely helpful and friendly, my room was lovely and clean, although small, but if I had know about the construction going on next door I would have stayed elsewhere. I was woken by 8am every...

They are not welcoming. There is no service. The room is very old, small and dirty. The carpet was filthy. There is no proper breakfast. I wonder why Britishairways advertises this hotel among 4-stars without going there and checking it out. The hotel brochure is not sufficient. It is not true.

There are plenty of tourist guides for London, and none of them mention this hotel in the heart of Kensington. Guests are welcomed by a very helpful and nice staff to a friendly atmosphere, good (but rather small) rooms, and a nice breakfast. The hotel is situated between two tube stations (Glouchester Road and Kensington High Street), and there is...

Stayed at Ke^nsington House in June. Its brochure rates itself a 4-star hote. It is a 1 or 2 star hotel, that is the reality. The pictures on the Internet and its brochure are misleading. The hotel needs serious refurbishment and serious cleaning - the carpets at the entrance and in our room had not been hoovered and we found...

Stayed at Kensington House Hotel recently. Very clean. Staff helpful. Rooms are way too small. Breakfast is sufficient. The place could use an on-site person more invested in the place. Elevator is scary and too small for luggage. All in all the rooms need to be bigger. My bathroom was bigger than the bed area. No place to put my...

Thanks for your feedback. Our lift is quite small, it has to be said, but it’s adequate - one of those design balancing acts that you do when adapting a townhouse into a hotel, trying to save as many original features as possible. The room sizes do vary and on the upper floors, have bathrooms of equal size to the...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
