The pros: perfect location, very clean, LOVELY staff. Nice deep tub in the bathroom with doubles on lotions, soaps, etc. plenty of towels. Good-size tv. The meh: my room was fine, a little small. Don't go for the 6th floor - they are dormer rooms. And the temperature alternated from hot and stuffy to very cold. The heat sensor did...

Dear Lesley N, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I'm so pleased you found our staff so friendly and our bathroom so suitable for your needs. Unfortunately London hotel rooms do tend to be a little smaller than those elsewhere in the world but our bedrooms compare favourably in size to...

When I arrived with my family I was not feeling well and it was before check-in. The staff was able to find me a room to rest and recover. Later they helped me and family move into adjoining rooms to accommodate us. We sprung for club level which we thought was well worth it! Free breakfast with extensive options. Alina...

We loved the location of the hotel. Walking distance to natural history museum, Harrods and Kensington palace. Also close to blue line stop for hop on hop off bus. As we visited in winter, we did find that we did have to get on and off several buses to get to different things because we were in kensington. We stayed...

Location is superb and check-in staff were very friendly but that's where it ends. There was no heating and the AC, which can blow warm air, wasn't working in either of the rooms. The bath towels and the bedsheets smell very strongly of bleach and chemicals, which lingered on your skin after using them. Bathroom is small, with no hair...

Perfect stop for a girlie visit to Harrods. Almost opposite Gloucester Road station and really great quality room. Didn't have any meals here but am sure it would all have been great - they let us have a late checkout of 2pm without charge too - bonus!

We booked a "twin deluxe" room travelling with 2 adults and 2 children. Upon arrival we were granted a 'free upgrade' to the apartment located next to the hotel. It was a huge apartment: so far so good. The sofabeds for the kids were not prepared: we had to call ourselves to resolve this. They were not really prepared for...

Excellent located right by the metro. Very nice, spacious rooms - two big beds. We were 2 adults and a 15 year old with plenty of room. Clean bathroom. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there were plenty of restaurants outside.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
