The Rembrandt is a decent hotel. Not top drawer by any means but comfortable, clean, caring and well located. The rooms are smallish but quite well appointed. Some of the carpets and furnishings show some age, but on the whole the rooms and bathrooms are B+/A-. The bar is adequate but rather dated as is the dining room. The breakfasts... More

Fantastic location almost across the road from the Victoria and Albert Museum and a short walk from Hyde Park, the Rembrandt is a great and quite grand hotel with friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Stayed here for a long weekend. Hotel is in an excellent Central London location - close to South Kensington tube - it is on the Piccadilly line so easy to get to if you fly into Heathrow. We had a superior double room. It was very spacious and scrupulously clean. Room was cleaned each day and towels changed. Room also... More

We've just spent 10 days in London at the Rembrandt and we very much enjoyed our stay. I recently stayed at The Rembrandt in London, on two occasions. On the first I was given a "superior single" and when I remarked on the small size, was promised a larger room on my return visit a week later. The second room was much larger and the bathroom had an opening window, a rarity in any hotel. The buffet... More

The tea we had was a true high tea with tasty sandwiches, fresh, tasty scones and well-served tea. This is far better than many more expoensive hotels and higly recommended. Have eaten lunch and dinner here many times and always found it excellent and very convenient for Kensington Mueums.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
