The Columbia has a fantastic history. It was once used as a military hotel back in the 1970's. However, the hotel seems to be stuck in the past. The bathrooms are the same avocado green as they were back in the 1970's and the water pressure was not dependable...one of our rooms never delivered in terms of a hot shower....

I read reviews that stated this hotel was at the on off bus stop. It is right in front. I read that a woman enjoyed looking out her room window to view the lively park. This was a beautiful view from my room as well. I read that the breakfast was delicious. It is delicious, pleantiful, and the service is...

For the price this hotel offered a good location. There were a few negatives; hotel is dated in places it need not be, I know the hotel is trying to keep some historical charm but the bathroom in our room was in need of renovation. The closest tube stop is also closed until July this year which meant a longer...

Stayed for a 3 night break March 2017. Booked a triple room (3 singles) which happened to be on the 4th floor. Only 2 lifts available; one near to reception and the other - a much smaller lift - near the bar. Both were slow and could do with updating. Our room was long and narrow with one round window...

The Columbia is an old style hotel nicely located across the road from Hyde Park. Two tube stations are nearby, Lancaster Gate which was closed when we were there, and Queensway. The bar in the hotel is not great but there is a wonderful pub called The Swan just two minutes away. Just turn left when you come out from the...

Went for three nights and leaves with mixed feelings. The location , near tube and busses is great. The place really needs a facelift, some fresh paint will not hurt... The rooms were OK, but not more. The lifts needs some maintenance and the two that is available is not in proportion to the number of guests. Took very long...

This hotel may well have seen better days - and I was there when they happened! The Columbia is the the English equivalent of The Chelsea Hotel and just looking at the picture of it stirs my heart. If you want to stay at a hotel with such a deep history of utterly pole apart guests - this is for...

I stayed for a couple of days in this hotel and I have nothing to complain about. It's not modern, more traditional english style with lots of carpet and old furniture, but well kept. I would definitly return to this hotel in case I'm visiting london again. Don't expect a modern, fancy hotel, but for sightseeing porpose it's defintly more...

I went in this hotel with my family during an holiday. I don't know if this is the standard the price was very cheap in relation with all other hotels at equal quality. The location is amazing! Near the hotel there is a lovely pub called "The black swan" where is possible to eat as well as to drink bear...
