After reading "Basic", I thought I would write a review. We have been coming to the Mitre for over 20 years. Can't be too bad!!!!! We (four of us) arrived Saturday lunch time to be greeted by Kate, and her colleague, . Always pleasant, chatty, friendly etc, etc. We were also awaiting our two sons and daughters in law who...

My friend and I shared a Twin Room. There was plenty of space and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and showed interest in our trip to London. The staff were all excellent - very helpful and kind.

Dont let the classy exterior fool you. This is a very basic economy hotel. The room was very small but clean and adequate for one night. Though the door didnt reach the floor and curtains didnt fit the windows. The front desk staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. The breakfast experience was not good. We could only sit on...

Dear Family Owen, Luckily I don't need to bother with "sneering comments" when you have managed to adequately fill that space. If we defend ourselves in the face of adverse rhetoric it is because we have worked our butts off for 55 years to provide a safe, secure, clean and affordable base in one of the most attractive parts of...

Found this hotel by chance on Expedia and booked it for one night mid week. On arrival it was great to find off-street parking on the forecourt. The hotel is an older building but it made a great change from the sterile cubicle offered by many of the large affordable chains. The bedroom was spacious by London standards, with a...

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for putting together an honest and positive appraisal of your experience following your recent visit. Kensington Gardens close at dusk but have 'exit only' gates at selected points to avoid climbing over the spiked railings. Hyde Park closes at midnight. We would be delighted to welcome you back.

We stayed here with with our two kids. Was a great place and reasonably priced (for London). Family suite was perfect with separate adjoining rooms (one with a double and one with two singles) and both blocked off from the hall by another locking door. Rooms are small but you won't find much bigger in London for that price. Enough...

Clean budget hotel near Paddington tube station. Friendly staff. Be advised, they also have rooms in the basement (cheaper - we booked from amoma - but we didn't know that we will stay in a basement = no view at all). For us was not a big problem cas we stayed all day long in the city. Small room, but...

London hotels ain't cheap moreover getting one less than a month before. Mitre was one of the few options we have left but it has proven to turn out better than expected. the breakfast served daily has a homely feel :) the room was clean and we slept well despite being a little small as expected. Walkable distance (5-7mins during...

I stayed here for two nights in order to explore a bit of London before heading to Brighton. As far as American standards, it is probably a 2-star, because of the worn carpet and dated furniture. The room for 3 (1 double bed and one single) was very small, but it was clean and comfortable. With our luggage there was...

The location is great, along with the price. It's located within walking distance of Paddington Station and also Hyde Park. There are a few convenience stores nearby, as well as restaurants and small eateries. Due to a booking mixup, we got a room that was situated in a separate section from the rest, accessible through a door to the side...

Dear reviewer, Your booking was made in December for a twin room in January on a non-refundable basis. We received notification that you would like to invite a third person. A supplementary charge would have been made and there would not have been a problem if we had a triple room available. Unfortunately, we did not, so your agent contacted...
