Wellington

If you want a very English experience, this is the hotel for you. Formed of three mews houses linked together, this is an independent hotel that celebrates it's location and heritage. Given the central London location (just off Soho Square, across the road from Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and easy walking distance to many central London attractions) the rooms were...

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Soho. It is infront of a bar but our room was at the back of the hotel and so it was quiet. The hotel is full of character and has a great charm. Our room was nicely furnished and had such a comfy bed. We ordered a tea tray...

Spending as much time as I do in the more mainstream hotels and recognised luxury venues, it is nice for a change every now and again. Recent visits to London provided that opportunity and I took it. Hazlitts was close to the train station, and adjacent to where I wanted to be that evening, and so I booked in to...

This is a wonderful boutique hotel that we found to be spacious, quiet, clean, chocked full of niceties, and with privacy. The front desk folks were very helpful and professional, the cleaning staff were efficient and accommodating. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom had beautiful fixtures and a giant bathtub with plenty of hot water. We took the...

We stayed at Hazlitt's for 2 nights whilst in London for the Harry Potter play. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we got to the door and felt incredibly looked after for our whole visit. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Rooms were comfortable and we loved that they were traditional with all the modern amenities we needed!...

Hazlitt's is a beautifully renovated townhouse right next to Soho Square. We were traveling with 2 teen daughters for Christmas holiday. The rooms were positively gorgeous, and look as wonderful in real life as they do on the website. "Dr. John Snow" is one of the prettiest hotel rooms I've stayed in! Our arrival was delayed til 3:30am(!) due to...

Beautiful hotel in Soho, wonderful, helpful dedicated staff and good location. Each room is completely unique spacious and well appointed. I am more of a modern hotel fan but I really had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Cons: No elevator. The hotel is so old that no one floor in the place is level.

My father loved Hazlitt, his ability to cut to the chase, to puncture pomposity and to question authority. Staying in this den of literary London, allows you to immerse yourself in his and others writing. There are all kinds of books in the hotel and some lovely places to read them especially in Winter. Don't just treat the books as...

When we've visited London for special occasions over the past few years (birthdays, anniversaries, and so on), we've stayed at Hazlitt's. My husband and I love it. The hotel is old and characterful but beautiful, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff are all friendly and professional. All of the rooms are different, with their own distinct character, and decorated...

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hazlitt's occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity. At Hazlitt’s our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the World’s great cities. Civilised surroundings; old fashioned hospitality; friendly efficient service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions. ... more   less
