Fab, character hotel with period decor and old fashioned English charm. 'Felt like being on a film set. Staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Offered to help with luggage but I wanted to ride the quirky little lift with manually operated cage doors I'd read about! A well-maintained piece of history. I stayed in what I understand to be one of...

Very nice building architecturally, but the decor is a bit jaded. Friendly and helpful staff. Offers good value as far as London goes. It does not have a swimming pool or fitness centre as far as I know but I cannot seem to be able to remove it from detailed review.

if you need a no frills boutique hotel right in the wealthy residential Belgravia this is the best place. rooms are a bit outdated and are in need of renovation, however they are larger than the standard rooms in London. very friendly staff and good breakfast. recommended if you are looking for a decent home-like place to stay with basic...

The Diplomat made our stay in London memorable. Perfect location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very functional, could take some updating, but then the price might go up too! Just keep it as it is. Great value. Would highly recommend this hotel. Price includes breakfast which is a feast for a King or Queen (if you like true English...

The hotel had character and our room facing the front was comfortable but the phone in our room didn't work. The bathroom was fine with lovely fluffy white towels although the bath needs updating. My friend and I stayed for one night on a Saturday and loved the surrounding area. Our only negative feelings about the hotel was the breakfast...

After reading the reviews, we were not quite sure what to expect but on arrival, we were greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist who advised us that we had been upgraded to a suite. This was remarkable as we had only booked a standard room. The Berkeley Suite was extremely large and comfortable and contained everything we needed for our...

It has been some time that I had been thinking about trying this hotel in Belgravia. I've read previous, not completely positive reviews on the Diplomat, so I had some doubts about my choice. Most of the guests complained about the old building, the tiny lift, run down condition of the rooms, etc. Well, I can tell, that my experience...

I'm just back from London and a three night stay at the Diplomat Hotel. The location is just fantastic, but apart from that the hotel was a disappointment, especially with all the good reviews here on tripadvisor in mind. I found the hotel rather run down, with a pleasent enough staff. The cleaning was just average, with e.g. hair under...

We booked last minute to stay at The Diplomat. I chose it for its proximity to Victoria Station (which is where the Gatwick Express train arrives and departs from). The location as the name suggests is in the diplomatic area, so lots of embassies, expensive cars, and restaurants. The area itself is very quiet, yet walking distance to all the...

I have been staying at the Diplomat on visits to London for the past six years - and what a gem. Its biggest concession to modernity if internet connection in each of its two dozen rooms or so. They are comfortable, clean, with complimentary tea and coffee as well as telephone, trouser press and television. There is also a two-person...

Staying in Belgravia

Neighbourhood Profile
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
