Rating: 2/5
Hotel: Central Park Hotel
Room Number: G02
Negative Points:
• There is an automatic door next to the room, and its opening and closing noise echoes inside.
• Possibly due to construction, noise from footsteps and other disturbances from the upper floors is unbearable.
• On Saturday, there was vibration noise until around midnight.
• The bed is a narrow single.
• There is very little space around the bed to place small items, making it difficult to take things out of the bag.
• The BF-type outlet requires excessive force and a specific technique to insert the plug.
• Only one large and one medium towel were provided.
• The bathtub drains very slowly.
• Due to staff shortages, sheets, towels, and room cleaning are not done daily.
• Housekeeping once came while I was in the room at around 4 PM.
Positive Points:
• The room has a bathtub.
• The bathroom floor has heating, keeping it warm.
• The hotel is within a 10-minute drive from Paddington Station, a key gateway to the city.

Arrived 1 hour before check in time, the receptionist was helpful and managed to get us in our room early after just a couple of minutes wait.
This time we stayed in room 609, which is one of the upgraded rooms. Great upgrade compared to rooms we stayed in last time. Very clean and spacious, tea/coffee, small fridge, shower (no bath). Heater easy to use to cool/heat the room which usually can be a pain to control in hotel rooms.
Approx 25 minute walk to Hyde park where we visited winter wonderland. Last time we parked in a car park approx 5 minute walk away, this time we forgot to move the car from parking outside as I am heavily pregnant so ended up with two parking tickets. (Parking is free 6:30pm-8:30am outside the hotel on the road).
I would stay here again, price has had a massive increase though which is a bit disappointing. Almost £200 for one night in the week!

Even though we could not stay in the rooms that we paid in advance for, not only that we did not receive any sort of refund, but the payment has been taken twice from our account. No complaints policy and no attempts of solving the issues whatsoever! We wasted 3 hours trying to make them understand that the conditions of their rooms were improper. This experience was traumatising for our children as well, and it ruined the purpose of the trip

We try to keep the night curtain closed as there are workmen walking on the scaffolds outside doing hotel renovation, indeed no privacy at all !!!
Room is set up with complimentary coffee & tea but no bottle drinking water. Shower room faucet hot water could not be controlled, just had to be careful not to get scalded . Bed mattress is too small to be a double size (about 54” wide), it is soft , we nearly fell off the bed when we turned.
Breakfast buffet spread was excellent, daily room cleaning is nice, service from Front Reception is helpful and good. However, on 26 April morning, it is very annoying that the Hotel Staff came knocking many times before 11am to rudely ask “what time are you leaving??”.
A very disappointing departure, I have never been so humiliated staying in other hotels over the years!!!!!
1. Centrally located, well connected by the underground.
2. Staff behaviour is good.
3. Good luggage storage facility.
Cons:
1. Room was tiny and had little ventilation.
2. The corridor was dimly lit and had a musty smell.
I can't comment on the food as I did not eat any meals in the restaurant. I had opted only for accommodation, not including breakfast. Though I've considered the size of the room a con, I sort of expected it given the reasonably low price I was paying for a hotel room in central London. However, I did expect the hotel to have basic amenities such as a weighing machine for overpacked luggage.
The bedding was clean, thankfully but the headboard was crumbling away so didn’t take long to have bits all over the pillows. There was also what looked like sick stains on the floor at both sides of the bed.
Around the bed was hovered but under the table/stool was clearly not as lots of crumbs and bits were found. The bathroom was mainly clean apart from hairs found in the shower and along the corners or the floor.
Our towels were changed everyday but we’re clearly for small children or size 0 models.
The window did open which was welcomed in the warm room but there was nothing to keep it open, as it was windy it kept banging open and shut until we finally closed it.
A kettle was provided with tea and coffee which were just placed on the table, (no tray or anything) there was no where to put the used spoon apart from back on the table. Milk was only provided on day 1, luckily we had a mini fridge so I purchased my own.
We put a do not disturb sign on our door each night, although no one tried to come in (apart from the 1st morning) banging and talking was heard everyday which sounded like it was right outside the door.
Lastly there may have been an issue with the wiring in the room. When the small lamps were on the would turn on and off depending where you was stood in the room.
A bit of attention to detail and the cleanliness of the room and the hotel would have been perfect.
