The Central Park Hotel's convenient location is often praised by guests for its proximity to public transport and attractions, despite the ongoing refurbishments. However, some travelers have expressed disappointment with the service, describing it as dismissive and unresponsive, and have called out the hotel for its overpricing and lack of value. The ambiance of the hotel is a mix of pleasant touches and dated decor, while noise levels can be disruptive. Rooms are criticized for being small and lacking in cleanliness and proper ventilation. Additionally, the amenities, including heating and bathroom essentials, are frequently described as inadequate.

The flush for the Lu was too hard to push for my thumb, and the seat was too short on the bowl. The bathroom where the sink is located, was 16 inches, and the shower was 24 inches. The size altogether had a shoesize from 12 inches x 4 and a bit more. A stopper for the door was needed, so that when you opened it, the shower door wasn't hit, but then you needed to close the door for to sit on the Lu. The TV was smaller than my computer screen at home and even sitting far away on my bed with glasses, wasn't easy to make out for everything we could've watched. Two single beds ok, but the lamp above the left side on the bed with its long stump, if you don't watch out, could have nipped a hole into your head. Breakfast was excellent. When we didn't want them to clean our room, we found the next morning a letter under the door, that we should let them clean it because our dirt could make some animals crawl in, and that is, what they don't want to have. Second floor 218. The window needed to be open for air. Room was big enough for just sleeping, coming and going. Equipped with a fridge water heater, teabags & coffee and a fan for stickiness. A desk & 1 chair & a sofa. Why didn't they place a pocked door in the wall, that way, there would have not been a problem with anything.

Dear Monika, Thank you for your detailed review. We appreciate both your positive and constructive feedback. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast and found the room equipped with useful amenities like a fridge, kettle, and fan. However, we’re sorry for the challenges you faced with the bathroom layout, the flush, and the TV size, as well as the concerns with the room's setup. We understand how these details impacted your comfort, and your suggestions, such as installing a pocket door, are helpful for future improvements. As for the housekeeping note, we do have policies to ensure cleanliness and prevent any unwanted pests, but we regret any misunderstanding this may have caused. Kind Regards, Nash, Guest Relations Manager

This stay cost approximately £74 per night.
Rating: 2/5
Hotel: Central Park Hotel
Room Number: G02
Negative Points:
• There is an automatic door next to the room, and its opening and closing noise echoes inside.
• Possibly due to construction, noise from footsteps and other disturbances from the upper floors is unbearable.
• On Saturday, there was vibration noise until around midnight.
• The bed is a narrow single.
• There is very little space around the bed to place small items, making it difficult to take things out of the bag.
• The BF-type outlet requires excessive force and a specific technique to insert the plug.
• Only one large and one medium towel were provided.
• The bathtub drains very slowly.
• Due to staff shortages, sheets, towels, and room cleaning are not done daily.
• Housekeeping once came while I was in the room at around 4 PM.
Positive Points:
• The room has a bathtub.
• The bathroom floor has heating, keeping it warm.
• The hotel is within a 10-minute drive from Paddington Station, a key gateway to the city.

Upon arrival we received a good and friendly welcome. We were allowed into the room earlier than stated. The room was on the 7th floor, the highest, so quite warm. The windows cannot be opened very far (for safety reasons). There was only a fan in the room. Room was clean, sufficiently large. The bathroom is on the small side, but okay. When we got back to the room in the evening, we saw 2 shadows darting away...cockroaches. We didn't think that was possible... so we went to reception at 1 o'clock and explained everything... we got a new room on the 2nd floor, which was larger and more spacious than the first. In terms of tidying up the room, there is little to complain about, new towels every day, bed neatly made, bins empty, everything replenished... Every evening we enter the room with a scared heart, but we have had no more "extra guests" and still a had a nice holiday.

Second time I’ve stayed here. First time back in 2022 to watch Adele at Hyde park, and recently just got back after a visit with my partner and daughter.

Arrived 1 hour before check in time, the receptionist was helpful and managed to get us in our room early after just a couple of minutes wait.

This time we stayed in room 609, which is one of the upgraded rooms. Great upgrade compared to rooms we stayed in last time. Very clean and spacious, tea/coffee, small fridge, shower (no bath). Heater easy to use to cool/heat the room which usually can be a pain to control in hotel rooms.

Approx 25 minute walk to Hyde park where we visited winter wonderland. Last time we parked in a car park approx 5 minute walk away, this time we forgot to move the car from parking outside as I am heavily pregnant so ended up with two parking tickets. (Parking is free 6:30pm-8:30am outside the hotel on the road).

I would stay here again, price has had a massive increase though which is a bit disappointing. Almost £200 for one night in the week!

Standard Room was spacious enough, cleaned every day, electric room heater provided at no extra charge, refrigerator is small and requires planning but works well, WiFi strong, some other reviewers complained about size of the room, we don't understand how much more space they need, it was plenty of space both around the bed and in the rest of the room. Some also complained about only one chair in the room, one as it is for vanity mirror not for in room dining! Who wants in room dining space please choose much more expensive hotel with kitchenette! The shower was spacious with both hand held shower and ceiling shower-head, water was hot, pressure on the shower excellent, hot water pressure weak on the sink but usable...TV set is fairly small, but we didn't come to London to watch TV in hotel room. Regarding the clothing cupboard it is open type with just a few hangers and truly too small for two, so as other reviewers noted we lived out of our suitcases. Who wants bigger cupboard should choose another much more expensive hotel, this was NOT a problem for us taking in account advantages like: hotel is in quiet street but nicely situated very close to two tube lines with 2 nice supermarkets on them and only 4 stops from Oxford Circus, just across the Hyde park, very clean and with a fridge, pleasant environment and polite staff, so before mentioned TV and cupboard are no issue for us. Three elevators, very useful after countless hours spent walking around London not every hotel has them. Some reviewers were complaining that carpet was wet, it was not, they don't understand that carpet is cold - UK is wet and cold country, especially in winter and dampishness is way of living. Room is fresh and free of smell every day of our 11 day stay, soap and toilet paper replenished regularly. Reception desk staff very kind, ask for Waleed! Room-made on 7th floor deserves pay rise!! We will come back!

Dear PavleKodak, Thank you for your very positive feedback and for the time taken to share such a wonderful review. I am confident that our future guests will find your comments very helpful. we are thrilled you had a fantastic stay at Central Park Hotel and managed to experience the real Central Park Hotel experience. It will be outstanding to share your comments about the outstanding level of service you received to colleagues across the hotel. I do understand your feedback regarding the TV and the cupboard- based on our layouts in the room we only do have a larger one in our Superior room as we have larger space in this category of rooms. However, we are happy to take your comments onboard and to be taken into consideration for our refurbishment plan. We were pleased that this didn't impact too greatly on the enjoyment of your stay and hope we will have an opportunity to welcome you back again very soon. Thank you once again for sharing your experience and we wish you a lovely Christmas season. Warm Regards, Malak Guest Relations

I stayed there for 2 nights with a group of 20 friends. When we all managed to check in, we were able to store our bags, for a small fee. The lobby is beautiful, clean and welcoming as is the bar. Then when you manage to go up to the rooms, seeing that out of 3 elevators only one was working, you are disappointed!!! Our triple room was small, with old and dirty carpet and a very tiny bathroom! There was also some work in progress on the facade of the hotel, with external scaffolding but it would be better to give the rooms a makeover first. Positive note for the breakfast, even if not included, 10 pounds for the Continental with sweets, fruit and drinks from the vending machine, all buffet style. For around 15 pounds there is the British one with eggs, bacon etc. I would return here just for the quiet area and proximity to the beautiful Hide Park.

Had the worst experience of our life at this hotel, starting from filthy rooms with bedsheets stained with blood and other bodily fluids and unbreathable air due to the high room temperature. The manager knows nothing about hospitality and customer service, he is unbelievably rude and very aggressive and does not even have an intention of offering any help to guests. Both him and the security guards operate like a gang, trying to intimidate guests with threats for asking for the basic standards of living in the rooms that they are paying for.

Even though we could not stay in the rooms that we paid in advance for, not only that we did not receive any sort of refund, but the payment has been taken twice from our account. No complaints policy and no attempts of solving the issues whatsoever! We wasted 3 hours trying to make them understand that the conditions of their rooms were improper. This experience was traumatising for our children as well, and it ruined the purpose of the trip

Our Group check in on 23 April 2024 staying for 3 nights. We were given Room 521 , it is small , only 1 chair, not much space to move around, make it very inconvenient to do our work on our laptop and printer.
We try to keep the night curtain closed as there are workmen walking on the scaffolds outside doing hotel renovation, indeed no privacy at all !!!

Room is set up with complimentary coffee & tea but no bottle drinking water. Shower room faucet hot water could not be controlled, just had to be careful not to get scalded . Bed mattress is too small to be a double size (about 54” wide), it is soft , we nearly fell off the bed when we turned.

Breakfast buffet spread was excellent, daily room cleaning is nice, service from Front Reception is helpful and good. However, on 26 April morning, it is very annoying that the Hotel Staff came knocking many times before 11am to rudely ask “what time are you leaving??”.

A very disappointing departure, I have never been so humiliated staying in other hotels over the years!!!!!

I booked this hotel for a 5 night stay as a solo traveller to London. The reason I chose this hotel is because it offered single rooms with an en suite bathroom. I did not find any other hotel that offered this, only hostels. I did not want to stay in a hostel or pay for a double-bedded room in a hotel. My experience was a mix of pros and cons. The pros:
1. Centrally located, well connected by the underground.
2. Staff behaviour is good.
3. Good luggage storage facility.

Cons:
1. Room was tiny and had little ventilation.
2. The corridor was dimly lit and had a musty smell.

I can't comment on the food as I did not eat any meals in the restaurant. I had opted only for accommodation, not including breakfast. Though I've considered the size of the room a con, I sort of expected it given the reasonably low price I was paying for a hotel room in central London. However, I did expect the hotel to have basic amenities such as a weighing machine for overpacked luggage.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your stay with us. We’re glad to hear that you appreciated our central location, the friendliness of our staff, and the convenience of our luggage storage facilities. We understand your concerns regarding the size and ventilation of the room. While our single en-suite rooms are designed to offer affordable accommodation in central London, we acknowledge that space can feel limited. Your comments about the corridor lighting and musty smell have been noted, and we will look into these issues to improve the guest experience. We also appreciate your suggestion about providing a luggage weighing machine. This is a thoughtful idea, and we will consider adding this amenity to serve our guests’ needs better. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. It helps us identify areas for improvement, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for an even better experience. Kind Regards, Nash, Guest Relations Manager

Stayed here for a weekend away with my BF. Wasn’t expecting the ritz as the price was really cheap for the location but the cleanliness of the room was pretty poor.

The bedding was clean, thankfully but the headboard was crumbling away so didn’t take long to have bits all over the pillows. There was also what looked like sick stains on the floor at both sides of the bed.

Around the bed was hovered but under the table/stool was clearly not as lots of crumbs and bits were found. The bathroom was mainly clean apart from hairs found in the shower and along the corners or the floor.

Our towels were changed everyday but we’re clearly for small children or size 0 models.

The window did open which was welcomed in the warm room but there was nothing to keep it open, as it was windy it kept banging open and shut until we finally closed it.

A kettle was provided with tea and coffee which were just placed on the table, (no tray or anything) there was no where to put the used spoon apart from back on the table. Milk was only provided on day 1, luckily we had a mini fridge so I purchased my own.

We put a do not disturb sign on our door each night, although no one tried to come in (apart from the 1st morning) banging and talking was heard everyday which sounded like it was right outside the door.

Lastly there may have been an issue with the wiring in the room. When the small lamps were on the would turn on and off depending where you was stood in the room.

A bit of attention to detail and the cleanliness of the room and the hotel would have been perfect.

Hi Charlotte. I am sorry, I don’t know. I would like to use the opportunity to recommend you to stay in another hotel. Central Park was not the best hotel, the room we had was not very nice and clean. The breakfast was disappointing. If you decide to stay at Central Park and get a room that’s not clean, contact the reception and get a new room. Remember, you are the customer:-) Enjoy London, it’s my favourite city and you will have a great time. Make the most of it. Best regards Tove
