Struggled to find a hotel at short notice so ended up here. The nightly rate was expensive (thank goodness I was only here for 2 nights) & the room was very small & up in the top of the hotel. Didn't have a view & the windows were very dirty. However the room was quiet & reasonably appointed. I arrived...

I have been staying in this hotel since 1997 regularly. The staff ar par excellence at all levels with Nic Lander heading which I can safely state the best concierage anywhere in the worl. oliver , Selem in Club lounge are exceptional. The beds are comfortable. My only gripw is with room service food quality. It's atrocious. A hotel can...

Chose this hotel as was close to Hyde Park where we were going to attend the Rolling Stones concert. Initial impressions were good. Check in staff were efficient and the lobby area was cool and welcoming. We had three rooms, one standard twin, one superior double and one standard double. The hotel had commented about overlooking the small park area...

When we arrived, we were told the room we had booked was not available, so we were upgraded to a Club room. We were then told it would be £50 extra per day, but we could use all the Club facilities on the 7th floor. After inspecting these facilties, it turns out it is really just a small lounge serving...

Fantastic location which is why we booked it. Rooms disappointing as were old and tacky decor was used to try and vamp up. The bar used to be one if the best in London and whilst the cocktails are fabulous its trashy and full of old men and their escorts of picking up escorts waiting at the bar. New money...

We booked two rooms and we were given two rooms really close to each other, we enjoyed a first class service from the staff - very very helpful in every little detail. The hotel really made our stay in London even better - The only negative point about the hotel is the lack of wi-fi, we bought 24-hour packages but...

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.. We booked 3 standard rooms for family stay. Compared to other hotels we have used in London this one compares very favourably. We were allocated 2nd floor rooms overlooking the Square. They were clean and tidy and provided ample room for our 3 night stay as well as being very quiet. The staff...

We were so excited to stay in a 5 star hotel (we usually stay in 4 star in London) and I appreciate that the star rating system is based on ticking boxes...how many elevators, how many hangers,.. but surely the overall standard should be the most important factor! The rooms were a huge disappointment. The first room allotted was the...

This hotel is very conveniently located in Mayfair, on Grosvenor Square, close to Bond Street, Oxford Street and Piccadilly. I stayed there for the first time for 3 nights, on a business trip, last March (2013). Service standard is extremely good, everything went smoothly both for check-in and check-out procedures. I had written before arriving to request a quiet room...

We stayed at the Millennium for two nights with my wife and two kids. First of all, the location, Mayfair, was excellent-- safe, quite, and easy to find. In fact, it was right across the United States Embassy! Just make sure that when you arrive at the hotel, tell the taxi to use the back entrance because it has ramps...

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
