Excellent location in Kensington a half a block from the Gardens/ Hyde Park. Able to walk to the Gloucester tube station, 1/2 mile from High St Kensington, .8 miles to the heart of Knightsbridge, Royal Albert Hall around the corner and great collection of shops and places to eat on Gloucester Rd. The location allows for stops back at hotel...

Overall a fab location and a lovely stay. The breakfast was a let down. However, it did not deter from our stay. My son and I had a wonderful time. Very good with children. The concierge is especially friendly.

Big, brown stain on the carpet. Room windows overlooked other room windows. Breakfast poor. Staff poor. Bill wrong on checking out. I had to prove that the room information said that tea and coffee in the lounge was complimentary.

We have come to the Gore for more than 10 years and used it as our base in London. It has gone through changes during these years, some we regret, some to the better. But its overall charm is still intact. And the location can't be beat. The three concierges remember us every time we arrive and our children are...

Had a lovely one-night stay here recently. It's so convenient for the Royal Albert Hall. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. I ate in the restaurant for dinner - it was extremely quiet but the food was excellent and service was great. Afterwards, I had a drink in the bar - it...

We stayed here after a concert at the Albert Hall. It is a perfect location being only a few minutes walk away. We ate at a great pub just round the corner and it seemed that you couldn't rally go wrong around that area. Rooms were comfortable and interesting. The bar was a great venue for drinks after we got...

The hotel was in an excellent location for what we needed-the Albert Hall. Staff in reception and at breakfast were lovely. Good service and they all looked really smart. Our room, a classic was small but again very good. Everything clean and crisp, just right for one nights stay. We had seen in the hotel book that the bar stayed...

One night stay to see performance at RAH. Hotel staff helpful and friendly, room clean with comfortable bed. Only down side is lack of tea coffee facilities in room, though unlimited available in downstairs lounge. Breakfast good. Bar very cool.

Lovely comfortable room 5 mins from the Royal Albert Hall. Room service good and the well stocked mini bar. Great for an overnight stay in London. Lovely central location for parks, landmarks and shops

We flew into London a day earlier than planned and needed a one-night stay. We booked the Gore and had the best experience, I wish we would've stayed entire length of trip. Bellman Trevor was attentive, helpful and gave special attention to kids and each a map of London. We stayed in the "Tudor Room" which was magical for daughter...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
