I recently had the pleasure of staying at Club Quarters, Gracechurch in London, England but was in two minds whether to write a review! This is such a lovely hotel at reasonable prices in the centre of the city that I was not sure I wanted to share it. The hotel is very central and easy to get to. I...

We stayed here for a weekend and we really liked the hotel. Clean, polite staff and good facilities. The hotel is located in London's business area, so there are not many places nearby which are open in the weekends. But it is located in a central part of London with subway stations nearby, so it is really easy to get...

Spent a week there for business, the room was comfortable and clean Spent my evenings out - so cannot comment on the food and service. staff seemed friendly and accommodating. The room in itself was not overly spacious, but filled all my needs - had Wi-Fi, TV, etc.

Now, I realise that this place is reasonably cheap considering its location, but it is really not very nice. My bathroom was a plastic box like you might find in a ship's cabin on a cheap cruise and the room itself was dark and tired and frankly not very clean. On the plus side it is reasonably priced and an...

I stayed with my boyfriends for two nights and we had a lovely time. All around great hotel! The rooms were a great size with a very comfortable bed. The location is unbeatable! It's close to tower bridge right in the heart of the City of London. Just down the street from Monument station. The staff was very friendly and...

I'd booked this hotel through hotwire and wasn't certain what to expect after reading other reviews. As others have mentioned check-in is rather chaotic with a tiny reception area and the insistence of the employees to use an electronic checking-in system that didn't work. My initial impressions of the room and public areas was good with nicely re-furbished decor; the...

Location: Conveniently in the City, close to where I work / the Tower of London. Staff: Friendly. Rooms: The hotel is a bit warm on the inside. The room actually has a window that can open (unique in London!) for fresh air. However, the room itself was a bit smelly, humid and dark. It was quite big for a London...

This premise was perfect for our needs; central in London, reasonably priced, clean and friendly. It also had the advantage of being practically attached to a pub (there was even a stop in the lift for it!), which was a cheaper option than their bar and restaurant. It did appear set up for business people travelling internationally, but it was...

Room was very small but no issues other than the clogged shower. We didn’t complain about it so I can’t say anything about servicing. The room had a fridge and microwave which was nice. The lobby has coffee machine for customers to use. Also, they had free clarified still water that you could fill in provided water bottles. This was...

My daughter and I stayed here last week while I was in London on business. We really enjoyed our stay: Room - We were in room 801. Not the best view in the world, but it had plenty of space for the two of us. We found the hair dryer in the nightstand -just wanted to point that out in...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
