A special weekend to London to see a show, pre-booked this hotel and received 12% discount on room and breakfast rate. I think the downside of the discount is we probably got the worse room in the building. The shower cubicle was smelly and the shower didn't work properly, the sink was so small in the bathroom you could barely...

I stayed for a couple of nights last November(room 58) having booked through one of the hotel websites which indicated that the price I was paying was a 60% discount to rack rates. It was still more fractionally more expensive than the chic modern West End hotel where I had spent the previous week. The Academy website indicates a level...

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay with us last year in November. I was sorry to read that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Our website does indeed offer the best available rate for the day and the rack rate is a standard published rate for the year; however we do...

I recently met with a small group at the Academy Hotel for a 2-day conference. We met in a beautiful lounge with a view to the garden. The seating was comfortable and ideal for the type of meeting, which emphasised conversations in small groups. The hotel provided a good lunch both days with coffee and tea on breaks. The setting...

Stayed here on business with a bunch of colleagues attending a meeting nearby. The location is good, being quite central but in a quiet and rather impressive part of town. My room was I think one of the larger ones, fronting onto the street which I thought would be noisy but turned out to be not too bad at all....

Stayed here with a mate in a twin room just based on the location. We were watching a gig at Brixton but wanted to have a few drinks in Camden. Tube station is very close and the hotel is in a nice area and easy to find. We requested that our room was ready at 2pm prior to arrival and...

Just returned from a great stay at the Academy. This hotel is in a great, central location in leafy Bloomsbury and offers so much more than others in a similiar price range. This was my second time staying at this hotel. It has a good location, both rooms I have stayed in have been pretty comfortable, though during this latest stay the room was very hot and I was told to regulate the temperature by turning on the air conditioning. This led to the room being either too hot or too cold...

There is nothing extraordinary about this hotel (except maybe the rates!). It is just average quality (my room was at the highest floor, pretty old and having un unpleasant smell - I guess due to mold you could see on the walls both in the room and in the bathroom) which was not what I expected from the pretty high...

This is the first time, after many mediocre hotel experiences in London, that I can categorically say, I would like to return to this hotel. We were charged £110/night for 2 nights B&B which is very reasonable for such a good location. The continental breakfast was delicious and fresh, especially the fruit platter and the patisseries. Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum.
