Excellent hotel with new renovation. I had booked a luxury room with lounge access and was cheerfully asked by reception staff if I wanted to upgrade to a junior suite for £30 a night extra which I did. It was a huge, quiet room. The reception staff, Andrei and Sara were excellent - lovely people. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel...

Only a one night stay but decent sized room with good amenities. Inc sky tv which is rare these days. Great for South Kensington and short walk to the kings rd! Cannot comment on food but looked good when we were having a drink in the bar

Having stayed in a number of hotels in London we chose The Baileys due to the very close proximity to the tube and bus routes. The staff were all excellent especially Gary the doorman and Andrei [spelling] on reception. We were offered an upgrade which was worth the slight extra money. The room and facilities in the hotel were outstanding....

The location is wonderful, The double rooms were good size. The restaurants are very good. The staff is helpful, but most did not speak English, so there were some communication problems. It took me a while to figure out how to work the shower. We were given only one soap for two people. When we requested another, we did get another the...

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Firstly, at check in we were offered an excellent deal on a room upgrade with breakfast included which we snapped up. The suite was stunning. Spacious, beautiful decor, clean and a heated floor and huge shower in the bathroom. Even the...

We visited the hotel for one night in a deluxe room, it was so spacious, plenty of room for us and our 4 year old. I would also highly recommend the "ask Alfred" offer if you are travelling with little ones, it's a gift pack to make their stay extra special, (a bear, sweets, dressing gown, toothbrush, shampoo, activity book)....

Whenever I book a hotel anywhere I read review after review on numerous hotels in the area. It's a real pain but I hate turning up somewhere and being disappointed. Well now I never have to worry about where to stay when I'm in London! It will be The Bailey's every time! Location perfect, Classic room (238) perfect, staff perfect!...

I'm coming to London for many years now and regularly staying in different hotels. My wife discovered this place on bookings.com and we gave it a try. It is literally opposite Gloucester Road station which is part of the Piccadilly line and makes traveling around London incredibly efficient and cheap. It is opposite a Tesco and a Starbucks and has...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
