The room where afternoon tea was served was pleasant. It is in the garden room which looks out onto the park. However the afternoon tea was quite simply appalling. The bagels were stale. The mini quiches were tasteless, the egg mayonnaise rolls were just awful. The cakes were equally disappointing they were cheaply made and less than appetising. The scones... More

I was naturally very disappointed to read your recent review and wanted to assure you that I have addressed this with the Head Chef here. All the items on our afternoon tea are produced in-house and made fresh on the day so I am very concerned to read your comments. I do hope that should you wish to discuss this... More

We have stayed here several times, and twice now since it changed hands and became the Hotel Du Vin. It's a lovely place, and this time we got an upgrade to a beautiful room on the 2nd floor. It's comfortable, with good facilities, and a capacity for something quirky to happen. Last time it was the room key: no key... More

Quality in almost every aspect with a beautifully furnished room and bathroom which had plenty of space . My evening meal was really good and the hotels restaurant was a lovely place to eat with excellent service which was also very evident when enjoying a superb English breakfast the next morning.

Location - okay if you're driving, or are happy to pay for taxis throughout your stay, but it's a 20 minute walk to the nearest tube station, then 45 minutes to central London. I was aware of this before booking, but it became a chore. It's a lovely setting, bordering Wimbledon Common, and in nice grounds. Check-in - okay, though... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your recent review. Our location just out of Wimbledon Village in Cannizaro Park does mean a walk to the local transport links or a short taxi ride and I am sorry that this became a chore towards the end of your stay. We were 3 adults and Pickle the dog. The afternoon tea was early at 15:00 on a Sunday. * Go later, if you go on a Sunday, as the conservatory was still full of lunchtime guests, a number of whom were "tired and overexcited". The service improved and the area felt less manic as the conservatory thinned out. * Afternoon... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your recent review. I was delighted to read that you enjoyed your afternoon tea but sorry that you felt the hotel was very crowded and lunch was still in full swing. A short taxi ride away from station but hotel has plenty of parking too! I was upgraded to a suite over looking the gardens but not sure why. It was a spacious suite with large bathroom and dressing area, huge comforatable bed and seating area. Kettle and espresso machine available and a complimentary bottle of wine. It's a pity I... Lovely cafe that faces the gardens and must be beautiful in the summer time. Service was incredibly slow and server didn't seem to understand much English. Hot drinks were luke warm and pastries were slightly overdone or maybe just old.

Really nice venue with private rooms available for hire. Food and wines all good. Also plenty of outdoor areas where you can bring your dog. Fantastic to sit out doors on a sunny day. Recommended for all and you can ask them to reserve space in the main bar.

This hotel is located in a superb, serene patch in posh Wimbledon surrounded by massive swathes of leafy grounds at the back of the hotel.
