Aside from the location, I find it really difficult to find one positive quality about this hotel. After being greeted by an extremely rude, arrogant male receptionist, the first impression alone is enough to scare you off! Very dated, unclean and 'uncared for' - steer well clear! There are endless other pleasant hotels in the immediate area, which offer a...

Stayed for a week with my colleague, rooms arent very clean which i always use as an absokute minimum a hotel should be but beds are big and rooms are fairly spacious for london hotels, central locations with lots of places to eat and shop and drink within walking distance as well as victoria station.

I don't even know where to start. 1st off, their website is just BURSTING with lies. The overwhelming filth & decrepitness was an incredible shock after a long flight in. There is no way on earth that this place is a "FODOR'S Best Choice Recommendation". Just can't be. Things they say they have, but really don't: WiFi, Working in-room phones,...

Stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary, 2 nights. On arrival to our last minute booking we were told that " we don't offer refunds" we should of taken that as " run don't stay here" The stairs to our room were creaking ( expected from and old building) but the carpet was full of dust and some parts of...

Chose this hotel for primarily affordability and location. Room was a good size and bed very comfy. As much as this hotel enabled us to afford a trip near central London, I feel I would not give it my business again. A few basic things, cheap to fix, a little care and attention to this hotel would make a massive...

The title summed some of the important points. Let me add: It is convenient to Victoria station, which is easy to train to from Gatwick. And many bus tours have stops at Victoria. It's close to a couple of theaters, local shops, low key pubs/ cafes. The staff was friendly. You'll pay for internet usage 1£ for 2 hrs. Walk...

The hotel, our bedroom and shower room need upgraded (carpets not in great condition, frayed and dirty net curtains, dirty windows) and the rooms are VERY close together. However, for a comfy bed for the night and London base, it was actually quite good! £187 for 2 nights in a twin room; bed sheets and covers were changed, clean and...

Of course when you are travelling to London, there is so much to do and you do not care a lot about the hotel where you stay, however I must say that this hotel is very bad and does not worth anything. The room size is not a problem for me, but the room was dirty, very old with dirty...

Firstly, I'd like to ask what the 'new' in the name stands for, as there's nothing in this hotel that's any newer than about 1996. There was even a phone book in our room dating back from 2006. Our 'experience' at the New England Hotel began when we were left waiting outside - and I don't mean at reception, I...

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
