We followed a 3 start recommendation from travelocity for this hotel...what a joke! After walking up to the door and seeing hotel staff sitting on the steps outside the door smoking, we should have known this wasn't going to be good! The hotel photos on the web-site are totally deceptive. This place is a dump! We "checked" in and got... More

Stay for 2 nights in May. Room is good - not big, but with enought space. Small bathroom. Comfortable bed. Don't suggest breakfast. For 5 pouds what I paid extra possible to find better breakfast. The staff is helpful. Location is good. Overal expirience is good, but next time I'll choose another hotel.

I'll start off saying the good point of this hotel. It is quiet central, down the road from the tube station, close to several shops and restaurants etc. However, having requested a quiet room, we were given what has to be the worlds smallest hotel room I have ever seen. There was a double bed jammed up against a wall... More

Caution!!! We stayed in this hotel two days ago. Yesterday when we check out an old receptionist ask for money for the prepaid breakfast and he was very angry when we try to explain politely that we've payed in cash already. It was 5 o'clock in the morning on Sunday and it was impossible to evoke the manager. So, they... More

Beware the hotel web site's suggestion that this is a cool, urban oasis with quality rooms. It's a tarted up old hotel on noisy Cromwell Rd, that's had a lick of paint, some very cheap new carpet (in bedrooms - hall is better in order to impress walk-up visitors I suppose) but nothing else. Horrible, realy, really cheap bed 'linen'... More

Was a bit aprehensive about this Hotel as couldn't believe how reasonable the price was considering we were staying in Kensington and after reading some other reviews ... however location was FANTASTIC, 2 mins from Gloucester Rd Tube Station, down street from Natural History Museum etc etc. Staff very pleasant, breakfast great value, room fantastic size and not box as... Advertised free wi-fi in the rooms and didn't have it.They don't understand "Do not disturb" signs. The rooms were cold when we checked in because they save on heating during the day and turn it on only at night. Rooms are big for London and that's the only thing that makes sense.

I really liked this place. I am very fed up with all those "edwardian" hotels that still seem to be part of the London hotel-scene. This was cool and mordern and staff was nice. Bathroom was on the small side, but so are most hotelbathrooms in London these days. Higly recommened if you are young and like a bit of... More

A very nice hotel in beautiful London! Ease of access to the tube and small local restaurants made this hotel that little bit easier. Room was small (could just swing my cat), but so to are 80% of the hotels in London. A good hotel to sleep and shower... Almost impossible to have any downtime in the room. Lobby is... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
