Nice decor, quiet street, and helpful staff were delightful. Special thanks to George who patiently helped me sort out connecting my smartphone to wifi for the very first time. The room was too small for the furniture. Only one chair for two guests made the rudimentary breakfast uncomfortable to consume in the room, and taking it in the tiny lobby...

South Kensington is a well positioned area to stay and the Cranely Hotel is in the centre just of Old Brompton Rd. On arrival refreshments were offered. Tea, juice. Fire was alight and very welcome on a cold day. Rooms are beautifully fitted out with very comfortable beds. Breakfast delivered to room is a great luxury. The one negative is...

The price may not be worth the quality of rooms, but I think that's the same anywhere in London. The hotel is located in a nice and clean part of the city. We enjoyed walking around, and admiring the beautiful English houses and looking for a good restaurant (for example the Italian "Olive" restaurant of the Millenium Bailey's hotel at...

We checked in in to this hotel midway through our London stay because the hot water in our apartment was not working. The hotel was within walking distance from Gloucester Rd Station in a very quiet and safe neighborhood with many amenities nearby ( Waitrose, pubs, restaurants etc ) We paid 125 GBP for a triple sharing room and (...

I stayed there for 13 days in February, 2011. I had a nice time there. The hotel is well located, in a quiet street, close to Gloucester Road Tube Station, Waitrose and some restaurants. The breakfast (included in the price) was ok, not the best of my life, but not the worst one. Coffe, tea, toasts and jam. Unfortunately the...

Make sure to ask for a room to the back, we were in the front for the first night and got no sleep at all. The staff were lovely and very helpful they moved us the minute we asked. To be honest the hotel is a bit of a warren, but you get what you pay for. The breakfast was...

London seems in a class by itself when it comes to a hotel. Either they are not good or very expensive, this hotel fits somewhat into that category. When I arrived and was checking in a couple came to the desk and requested a room change as their room was "not acceptable"(not sure what the issue was). The woman at...

I've been going there for a long while. It has never been a great hotel, but it was cheap. However the quality has been deteriorating month after month. Very very dirty. The carpet is covered with dust and hairs. Mattress are very very very uncomfortable. Blankets are dirty. The cleaning lady does never make the bed properly....you can see that...

We booked on the hotel site for 2 adults and 2 children. An email is the room would be big enough for 4 was not answered. When we...

Having previously spent a night in a truly appalling hotel for the same rate just a couple of miles away, we weren't expecting too much for our money and so were pleasantly surprised by the Cranley Gardens Hotel. Our room was a reasonable size and had everything we needed for our stay. Staff on the front desk were very helpful...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
