The hotel is newly renovated and modern. Breakfast was good. The mattress was OK. The staff in general were very helpful and friendly besides the reception manager who I had a nasty experience with over the room. Lucky for him (or maybe for me) the General Manager fixed things up and I had in the end a good stay. KEEP...

The location is brilliant, the facilities are great compared to some other hotels in London. With regards to their service, we have unfortunately mixed comments, as there are some namely David the Concierge and Martyna the head waitress who are briliant and could not be more helpful or pleasant. However, then there are the others, the other concierge and the...

This is a good place to stay in London. Reasonable price and only 5 minutes walk to the Gloucester Road Tube Station. This runs on Piccadily line and goes directly to Heathrow. Though we stopped at Earls Court tube station as we can easily push our heavy luggages through from train to street. At Gloucester Road tube station, you will...

Great location. Rooms are clean, but bathrooms are a little small. Stayed here twice, once the room was quite spacious and the next relatively small. My one annoyance is the wifi. It is free only in the lobby and is quite slow. The paid for service, was abysmally slow for the price! was trying to download a 30Mb file and...

This hotel is very well located; this is its best asset. Staff was not very helpful and at times indifferent to clients' needs. No luggage racks in rooms. Suitcases have to be left on the floor or on top of furniture if you don't want to bend all the time to get staff out of them. Some members of staff...

Had a great tome here, got an upgraded room to a heritage and it was well with it. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the staff were very helpful, the location is so close to everything in a very lovely part of London, bar was average and we didn't eat at the restaurant but the rest of the Orel was...

The manager was outside when I arrived and helped me with my luggage. Jorge at reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size (515) and having a fridge is always a bonus. However, free wifi would be great.

Contacted the hotel in April for our Silver Wedding Anniversary celebrations. On arrival at 11am we were check-in promptly and handed our keys to the Deluxe Heritage Room (upgraded with the hotels compliments due to our special occasion). The room was bright airy and spacious and everything was clean and pleasant. Booked dinner for two in the restaurant at 19.30...

We arrived late in the evening (just after 11pm) on a Saturday to be told that the hotel had run out of key cards so we couldn't have a key to our room. Instead, they said we would have to ask someone on reception to accompany us to the room when we wanted to get in. Incredible. Not a big...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
