i booked this a few weeks before going to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. What I paid was good value for a 4 standard hotel and it was only 10 minute walk away. The room seemed a small attic room which would be ok for overnights or a weekend. It could be a bit 'pokey' for a week...

A lovely hotel. 5 minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station. Kensington Palace and gardens and Royal Albert Hall also close by. V&A museum 15 minute walk Breakfast was a highlight with great choice of dishes. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly Martyna the restaurant manager. We are returning to London in July and are staying at...

We booked this hotel as we had a evening function in Kensington and the location was very close. The Hotel is situated only a few minutes walk from the nearest tube station. The Hotel has an impressive Curb frontage and is clean and well presented inside, going for a more traditional hotel decor. The staff were very polite and helpful....

Pros: This hotel is in an excellent location and is mostly well-decorated and furnished, I heard good things about the breakfast but did not sample any. The reception staff are mostly very helpful and welcoming. Bed was comfortable and a there was a strong, hot shower in the ensuite. Cons: No water in the room (standard in many other hotels...

First time to London and this was more than I could ask for! Great service, nice rooms with a safe and spacious bathrooms. Very clean! Great breakfasts & perfect location. Close to tube station, restaurants and parks/museums. At the time (may 2016) we were having trouble with the wifi in the rooms. Ended up just going to the lobby when...

We were really impressed. The beds will be smaller than imagined if your American but very friendly staff. Loved being so close to Gloucester line and walking distance to 2 small grocery stores and starbucks:)

A good location close to Gloucester Road tube stop. Efficiently run, the hotel provides comfortable rooms and a deal on breakfasts (which are good) in the hotel. The room we had was quiet. A good experience we would return to when in London.

Good overall. No frills. Enjoyed the included breakfast which had many choices every day and the close proximity to the Gloucester underground stop. We also liked the included "handy" phone which allowed us to make international calls at no added price.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
