I would have given this a very good rating but I'm afraid it didn't quite come up to expectations. The front of the hotel looks over some gardens, but we were given 2 rooms in the basement (42 & 44) which looked out onto some grubby green steps. Our friends had to request a move at 1 a.m. as they...

I recently returned after a 10 night stay at the Best Western Burns hotel where I was totally happy with my choice. My single room on the third floor was a good size, clean, and overlooked the garden at the front of the building, which made for a very pleasant view. The location and price could not have been any...

Good check in experience, receptionist advised of a good room for me, being a light sleeper, on the ground floor but to the rear and very quiet. Good size for a single room in this type of property with a reasonable sized bathroom too. Desk, TV and tea/coffee making provided. Slight downside, only one poorly located power point available for...

Returned a year after last visit and had a very comfortable night, nice room, friendly efficient staff and enjoyable, good value breakfast. There appear to have been improvements in the past year but no evidence of work going on. My wife and myself would return here again as a preferred hotel. Highly Recommended.

We came to this hotel slightly concerned after reports of mice - we had no need to be, every part of the hotel was spotless, the staff were all excellent, the food was delicious and we were delighted throughout. Our family had 3 rooms 419 - Single room for 1 night - a good sized single room on the top...

Really nice hotel and good value for London - in a nice side street opposite a little garden. 2 minutes from Earls Court tube which is great for accessing the West End. Plenty of little shops nearby including pubs, fast food, M & S food. Full English breakfast for £9.50 was really nice and freshly cooked. The staff were all...

I stayed here twice in between tours through the UK. Very good location, close to Earls Court Station. Heaps of bars and resturants nearby. The hotel is dated but the service was really good. Very helpful staff. The rooms are on a par with a 3 star but comfortable. If you are looking for a place that is good value...

Stayed here with my sister in a twin room. Great facilities and good size. Best part was location. Yes some of the fixtures and fittings are a bit tired and although stayed in Feb the room was really hot! However would recommend and would stay again as you don't spend a lot of time in your hotel when you have...

Stayed 8 nights at an ave price of £63 a night in a single room on the basement level. Have stayed at a number of Earls Court "budget" hotels over the years and this is my new clear favourite. Great value comparatively at this price. Lift. Wifi worked well on all devices. Have a restaurant but didn't use. 3 minute...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
