This was better than average, but I have to say not very good. A clean and functional, not especially expensive, business hotel located conveniently next to London Bridge Station and tube. Most residents seemed like they were from out-of-town attending conferences and courses. Slightly dark setting due to proximity to tall buildings. Labyrinth of floor plan took two corridors and...

Fantastic Hotel, only a stones throw from London Bridge Railway and Tube Station. It is in a good location in My opinion and even a Black Cab over to the West End from here is not very expensive (£15 on a Sunday evening) I've stayed here a couple of times now and the Staff are very friendly, helpful and proffesional....

A very nice hotel situated by the Shard and near Borough Market. Good location , lovely breakfast. Nearest tube station is London Bridge which is practically on your doorstep. Walk one way along the Thames up to the London Eye, the other way takes you Tower Bridge.

A very nice English start to our holiday. Our room was small but you are only sleeping at night there and was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was English so nothing to write home about but fine to start the day. The location is exceptional. Next to Shard and train station. Also Borough markets practically next door....

We stayed at the London Bridge Hotel for 2 nights and I booked direct as the website offered a very good deal (non flexible & pay on booking which suited me). The hotel is extremely well located, just outside the main London Bridge train station and tube. The Shard is next door to the hotel and Borough market, the river...

the location is excellent next to London Bridge and the metro. Service was good. We had a very bad experience with a room in the first floor which although was very spacey it was located just above the gym. The gym open at 6:30 and music starts as well as loud noises from weight lifting is unbearable. When we complained...

This Hotel is situated near Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market and the area has a nice feel, you can either take the tube from the station opposite to the main sites or walk along the river side to millenium bridge, waterloo bridge or westminster bridge, tower bridge is also easy to walk to in the opposite direction. The Hotel rooms...

From the moment we entered we sensed an air of quality and comfort that immediately made us feel relaxed after the hustle and bustle of the London streets.. The staff are impeccably dressed and all provide a first class service to the guest. The rooms are well appointed with lovely comfortable beds and bathrooms with quality towels and toiletries.. Most...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
