I was on a business trip linked to London 2012 and found base2stay a great option to a more traditional style hotel. Good value, clean, comfortable and very functional rooms( loved the shower). No breakfast but not a problem as there are tons of places within a short walking distance in the vicinity of Earls court tube. Helpful staff with some...

Let’s stipulate that London is expensive (I know, I know kind of a death grip on the obvious). Nonetheless, Base2Stay provides some welcome relief. It’s clean, well located (on the outside perimeter of Zone 1, Earl’s Court, which may save a bit with your Oyster Card), remarkable efficient and reasonably priced. The hotel is aptly named as it performs very...

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past. It's in a great location. It's clean, resonably priced. Perfect. It does not provide breakfast but that's not a problem, there's a great place for breakfast opposite Gloucester Road tube station, as well as lots of other places of course!

We would have given the hotel an excellent if we hadn't paid a fortune but we appreciate that it was during the Olympics. The room was clean and a comfortable size for 3. The staff were very helpful. Would definately go back out of peak time.

If you want a convenient, clean, modern place from which to explore London, base2stay is a terrific option. Just a short walk from the Earl's Court tube station in a quiet neighborhood, this hotel boasts immaculately clean and comfortable rooms with tiny kitchenette. Rates are positively modest by London standards. Free wifi is a plus. Plenty of restaurants, pubs and...

Stayed 7+ nights. Good location - close to the Earls Court Tube station, shops, restaurants etc. There's a Barclays Bike hire station only 50 metres away. Not far from South Kensington (especially on the bike). Friendly, helpful staff. Room was small but very functional and well maintained. In-room kitchen facilities were handy. Good wifi. All in all, for a single...

We've been to London twice previously, staying in Mayfair and Covent Garden at small, family-owned hotels (our norm when traveling in Europe). But having just spent a few nights at Base2Stay-Kensington, I think we may have found a home base in the capital for future visits to this amazing city. Our experience was outstanding: friendly service, a clean, comfortable room...

With a great location, very close to tube, restaurants and supermarket, Base2Stay is an optimal choice for going to London. The service staff is very friendly and efficient, the apartment is comfortable with everything the guest needs to stay. I recommend!

We really liked Base2Stay in London BUT we were scheduled to stay for over a week and felt that the room was going to be TOO claustrophobic for us. This was probably our fault as we were accompanied by 2 large suitcases and 2 pieces of hand luggage. We were to be in the UK for 3 weeks and had a...

I highly recommend base2stay Kensington for your next trip to London. I spent three nights at this location and thought the accommodations were excellent. Every part of the building was in perfect condition. It was a three minute walk to a tube stop and a lovely short walk to major sites. Since I was staying alone I had a single....

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
