I only wish there were more Bases2Stay in England, and I'd love to see them open one in Paris! My single room was small, but the sleek, modern design did not make it feel claustrophobic, unlike your typical London hotel room. Ultra-clean, tidy, well-apportioned, central location, a walk to Kensington Palace! And all for L95/night!! The mini-kitchen fit nicely within...

We were at Base2Stay 2 nights this week. The first, my daughter and I in 2 tiny single rooms, the second night, once my husband joined us, I moved into a double. For all of us, for both nights in all rooms, this place really got it right. The staff were exceptional. Friendly, helpful and professional from start to finish....

I stayed 5 days in London at Base2Stay, a charme hotel in the west side of London (next to South Kensington and Notting Hill) in a neighbourhood known as Little Australia. I am fully satisfied with the place (service, room features, personal charm, cheerful surroundings, so on) and with the style of the people working in Base2Stay. No complaints.

From check in to check out you could not ask for a friendlier, more courteous and professional staff. They are sincerely interested in assisting you with your visit and will arrange any type of services you need. Rooms are extremely clean (and I am picky) and with the mini frig, microwave, plates, flatware, etc. you can save a little on...

Yes, the room was tiny. But as I was traveling solo, mostly on business, that was just fine with me. A twin bed, a little desk, a mini-kitchen, and a large lovely bathroom are all a person really needs in London, especially when your bolt-hole is located in Kensington. Two blocks from Earl's Court tube station, walking distance to Kensington...

This hotel lived up to the reputation of its Tripadvisor reviews Pros 1. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Clean modern bathrooms, good matresses, and well maintained 2. Nice ammenities for families like a separate sink "kitchenette" area with a Nespresso machine 3. Staff was friendly and helpful and available 24hrs 4. Location is very central with Earls court...

I stayed for almost 3 weeks and found the hotel to be comfortable and very clean. Sandra in particular, as well as the staff at the front desk after I arrived, were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend!

My mother and I stayed at Base2Stay twice on a recent visit to the UK (at the beginning and end of the trip). Both of the twin rooms we stayed were clean and very comfortable. All of the staff we encountered during our stay were very professional and helpful (even remembering us on our return 3 weeks after our first...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
