We stayed 5 nights and were unable to fault this accommodation: it was an easy walk from Earls Court tube station with our trolley-cases; staff were professional and friendly; the modern interior including lift blended well with historical exterior; our room was modern, spacious, quiet and contained a comfortable KS bed; the kitchenette permitted self-catered breakfasts; and the bathroom excellent....

The bar was high with all those reviews....so I walked in with a particularly watchful eye.... First impression....they come out to welcome you! (okay the door is actually locked 24/7 so it looks better that way....but still....I liked). Check-in was fast and efficient. Charming old style home that has been totally remodeled and still the original charms can still be...

We found the Base2Stay reviewed in the Qantas magazine and booked it for a week. Fantastic location right near Earls Court tube station, the rooms are great and you can cook some basic meals in the room from Sainsbury's supermarket around the corner. Very helpful staff and woukd stay there again any time

I stayed for 2 nights and booked a single room for myself. Which at first seemed so small that you couldn't spread your arms and legs out while sleeping. But right after i laid down in the bed it felt comfortable and you have a flat screen in front of you. Then that's really everything you need. Also the room...

We loved staying here and found it to be very easy to get to the Underground station just a few blocks away (Earl's Court tube) plus it has a nice neighborhood feel with plenty of food shops, a post office and even a laundrette for when we needed to wash a load of clothes and didn't want to pay hotel...

I stayed here in June 2012 whilst looking for a new flat. It was literally the only available hotel in the area and so I chose it more out of neccessity than anything else...it turned out to be really clean, modern and perfect for what I needed. The room I had was on the ground floor which I was a...

I stayed at this hotel 3 times during May as I had to sit a few tests in London. The hotel is really clean and modern (which is hard to find in London for an affordable price), the staff was really nice and helpful at all times and for all matters. The room was quite tiny but could fit a...

Visited several years ago on my own, so I understood the base2stay philosphy. My husband and I had tickets for tennis on the 27th June, and the hotels location in Earls Court is simply minutes from the tube station, and the line for Southfields. Whilst close to Earls Court Road we were never aware of any noise. Plenty of latenight...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
