We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express as it was close to a conference venue we attended. We stayed in Room 330 which was clean if basic. However, we didn't sleep well either night due to the dreadful noise from the air conditioning - either...More

As a gold card holder I use IHG hotels reasonably frequently and I am generally satisfied. This hotel was the exception. We changed rooms 3 times during a 4 day stay and slept very badly. The main problem is the heating/air conditioning. If you turn...More

The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about
Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.

The furniture in the room was very old and it was probably kept as clean as it's possible to keep for its age and quality. But it was okay. The bathroom was modern and had obviously been done quite recently. A real contrast to the room. I certainly didn't see any mice, though I wouldn't be completely surprised at that story. Would I stay there again? No.

You probably don't need an answer anymore but the Old Street tube station is a few minutes walk from the hotel. From there you can be at the O2 in about 20 - 30 minutes by taking the Northern Line south to London Bridge, then swapping to the Jubilee line and get off at North Greenwich. The O2 is right there.
