We agree with the recommendations of Rick Steves and other Trip Advisor readers. My wife and I stayed in this hotel in 1999, when it had a different name and different owners. We returned because we enjoyed the quiet street in South Kensington, away from the chaos and noise of more central London locations. The Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural...

Been staying here over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Rooms are yes, small, but it's London. Baths are all updated. Leonie is just the best ever in answering any question or handling any issue you could have. Breakfast is always fresh, consistent and tasty. Have recommended it to many friends on their trip to London. Oh, and the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our two visits to Aster House this past September and October. The location near the South Kensington tube stop gave us easy access to all the sights and was close to a selection of restaurants. Try the tapas restaurant! Breakfast was excellent with pastries, cold cuts, poached and scrambled eggs, cereals, fresh fruits, and of course, baked...

This B&B is ideally located in Kensington a short walk away from the Victoria and Albert Museum. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good but not excellent. Good restaurants close by in the neighbourhood and close to a tube stop.

Lovely B&B with very comfy rooms and updated modern facilities and spectacular sun room for breakfast. Located on a beautiful and elegant quiet side street. Felt like a locals coming home from our hectic day in the city. Loved our little garden room downstairs. The owner is charming and so helpful. Full of great advice with best directions for anywhere...

I loved Aster house from the very first sight of the impressive porticoed front door! Our room was huge and spotlessly clean. The king sized bed was comfortable and fitted with individual quilts. We both slept extremely well and I was awoken by birdsong , not the sound of traffic! Leonie was the perfect host and her mandarin ducks were a...

We enjoyed 5 nights here in September. Aster House is an upscale Bed & Breakfast with 14 rooms on several floors. Note that the ability to climb stairs is required - in no way is this establishment handicapped accessible. We stayed in #11, which was a good-sized room with all expected amenities. Very good breakfast each morning in a beautiful...

I took my grandson to London for a week. We were referred to Aster House by a blue badge guide. It was exactly what we wanted: small, clean, great location, breakfast included, and kind/friendly staff. Leonie, the proprietress, was very helpful and kind. Having a breakfast buffet was helpful in that we did not have to figure out where we...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
