Lovely, lovely place to visit! Host Meomi (sp?) warm and welcoming. Good base to walk to museums, underground, restaurants. Tasty breakfast in bright and pretty conservatory, quaint secret garden inhabited my Ming Ming and his ladies! We will return here for our London trips!

Loved this place, very understated but great value and convenient to Heathrow and Centre London (Piccadilly line) Leone was very welcoming and helpful. Spotless place with great breakfast in a sunny "Orangerie" (Conservatory) We loved our room, its coffee/tea making facilities, nice shower and very comfortable bed. This was my sister & I's fourth visit over the years to Aster House. It is so reliable for cleanliness and service. True the rooms are small, but everything else is admirable. The host is wonderful, breakfast is awesome and the location in South Kensington can't be beat. 5 minutes to tube station.

This is the house that was given to the Duke of Wellington in appreciation for his victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. It's an excellent example of the architectural style of that time, and it's visually impressive. Take the Tube to the Hyde Park Station stop, and you'll be less than 5 minutes away.

Aster House is a lovely Victorian townhouse located down a quiet street about a block from the South Kensington tube stop, and is walking distance to the Victoria and Albert Museum. It is also close to Harrods, but I would likely just jump on the tube to the Knightsbridge station which is just one stop away. Upon our arrival we...

I spent 10 days here with my time mostly spent in the museums. The hotel gave me a good deal, being off season and I saved 5% by paying cash. That was easy to do by getting the money converted by my bank at home for free and then keeping it in the safe in my room at the hotel....

Aster House is located at South Kensington where there are many museums and close to Harrod's, Knightsbridge shopping area, Hyde park and many small local restaurants. It's 1.5 blocks away from the tube station and has 3 lines there. Even though it's close to all places, it's in a quite neighborhood and has a small garden behind. The breakfast is...

We had two rooms: a single overlooking the strret and a double ( two twin beds pushed together to make a king) overlooking the rear garden for 7 nights. Lovely rooms which are kept in immaculate condition and very gracious hosts. Breakfast was more than adequate and location can't be beat. 5 minute walk to So. Kensington tube station, V...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
