I give it a good rating because of the following: nice clean rooms / elegant and stylish hotel! Good location and very convenient. The breakfast was excellent. It also has a beautiful courtyard. There was one point that was not ok: the room was not ready on time and I checked-in about 1 hour late. So I was not happy...

Very clean hotel, staff were very friendly. Our room was very tastefully decorated, bed was very comfortable. This hotel is in a lovely location. There is an honesty bar but this room was very quiet, all in all a very pleasant stay

This beautiful, boutique property tucked in a small neighborhood of Georgian row houses in South Kensington and part of the Kit Kemp collection has been our "home" in London on three occasions. The courtyard is its biggest surprise--an oasis of calm and good service. The rooms are whimsical, to say the least. The deluxe rooms, especially in the "basement", are...

PROS: Good neighbourhood Great lobby Nice design CONS: Terrible room. It felt like the smallest, teenage bedroom ever. What a disappointment for the high price (and it was my company paying)! Never again.

Very superior hotel. Staff are warm and friendly. Breakfast was cosmopolitan and plentiful. Altogether a discrete and enjoyable experience. Close to Harrods and Kensington shopping .me .nearest underground was only a short distance away.

Really nice large room. Breakfast was very tasty and featured some of the best granola I have ever eaten. Service was good. An honesty bar always adds to the feel of home away from home and theirs is well stocked. Service and staff were excellent. Only regret was that our large and expensive room was in the basement

My favorite hotel in the world. I would rate it five stars just for the setting, location, and luxury but full disclosure.... I am terribly biased. My first stay there years ago was with a date. By the time we returned to the U.S., I knew she would be the one. Some wonderful years and two children later, I blame...

Lovely boutique hotel a stone's through from South Kensington tube. Has a neat garden area perfect for an aperitif or after dinner drink outside or in the gazebo. Close to everything, including shops, parks and museums.

I booked this hotel because of the location without any preconceptions or recommendation. I am glad to report it was truly delightful and my new favourite place to stay in London. The hotel comprises of three townhouses but is still quite small. London is one of those cities where the rooms are always tiny but the interior of this hotel...

We recently completed a four-day stay at Number Sixteen before continuing on to Florence, and were delighted with the experience. The staff helped us make the most of our visit, getting us tickets to the last performance of Midsummer Night's Dream at the Globe, reservations at local restaurants, and helping us decipher the London Underground. In fact, the personal service...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

Number Sixteen forms part of a row of gleaming white stucco mid Victorian townhouses.
