My husband and I stayed here years ago and it was very comfortable and convenient. So this year, for our 25th anniversary, I booked it again. The years have been very kind to Number 16 - it is now really stylish, with a gorgeous garden...More
The afternoon tea was very nice - tasty sandwiches, freshly baked scones and delicate little cakes. However, they were exceptionally slow in sending over the bill - it took about 20 minutes which was rather annoying.
Nothing was too much trouble for Fanny, the General Manager and her team at Number Sixteen. They made my stay extremely smooth and relaxing. I can't wait to return. Please bear in mind that the room descriptions on their website are not exaggerated.
The design and location of the hotel couldn't be better. If you can afford the bigger rooms, it's comfortable. If not, prepare yourself for a comically small space.

With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming
and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

The hotel is on a quietist side street. There is street parking but I did not see many available spaces. You can probably double park near the door and someone from the hotel would be able to come out and help. Remember that this is Kensington; the traffic wardens are extremely watchful and are fond of booting improperly parked cars.
