The whole hotel is old - it even smells old. The hallways are narrow. Our room was hot, badly ventilated and moist. The room had wall to wall carpet. The shower was really cramped. The breakfast was good, but the whole hotel smelled like bacon. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. St. Pancras, Kings Cross and Euston train stations is...

This is the second hotel I've stayed at in Cartwright Gardens. To be honest, the hotels are pretty indistinguishable. The singles in this hotel evidently vary a lot, but if you end up with a larger one, you'll pay a larger price too. Having a larger room confers no benefit I could detect, since it just means you'll be stumbling...

I've stayed at the Crescent a few times over the years. It continues to be very clean, and the staff is helpful and pleasant. Several things are getting worn or dated, though: the carpeting is fraying in places, my mattress needed either turning or replacement, and there are far too few electric points for modern travelers (one must unplug the...

A family-run, affordable hotel with gorgeous English breakfast. Small room but very neat, comfortable and cosy, with clean shared bathroom. A perfect location in Bloomsbury, near the British Library. Charming decoration, and friendly welcome. Have already been there a few years ago, many rooms have been refurbished. Will definitely like to stay there anytime I'm in London.

Booked a single room, with a shared bathroom. It was lovely: the room was small but enough to accomodate a single bed (single indeed, no room for two persons), a small desk and a shower cabinet. The hotel is small and cozy with an excellent breakfast. It is conveniently located near the British museum, the British Library and the UCL...

My husband, young adult children, and I very much enjoyed our stay. As other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is low-key and family-owned. The breakfasts were perfect to set up our days of walking around the city. We loved the location, cleanliness, and safe feel of this friendly little hotel and we would stay here again.

Set in the trendy area of Bloomsbury, close to the West End and major transport links, this Georgian building offers a feel of a btgone era! What you might call a traditional hotel, with a friendly feel to it, but clean and appointed well enough to make your stay enjoyable. I would call it a bargain find, somewhere I would...

Great family hotel really close to St. Pancras Eurostar train station, walking distance. Rooms are OK, byt will improve breakfast (included in the rate), both on service and hours. There's no elevator as is an old house - be aware that you must carry on the luggage till your room

We booked online, probably 3 months ago. Basically we looked at price first, then previous reviews.... Gotta say £350 for 2 nights B&B for me is way over the top, not really comfortable paying that much... The hotel is ok, the staff are polite, the room was good, comfortable beds. The food was ok, as you can see nothing exceptional...

Hotel is clean, friendly, very well situated for Euston and Kings Cross. Furnishings old fashioned but functional. However, for the price I didn't expect the tiny shower room to smell of mould, the wood under the bathroom sliding door to be unpainted and rough, the window to be unopenable at all and the strong smell of cooking breakfast to wake...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
