Opened by renowned hotelier Cesar Ritz in 1906, The Ritz today still retains all the glamour and excitement synonymous with this world famous hotel. Perfectly located in a landmark position on Piccadilly in the heart of London's West End, the 136 room luxury hotel is ideally placed to suit both business and leisure visitors alike. Now totalling 111 bedrooms and 25 suites, the elegant rooms combine the original Louis XVI style interiors with modern day technology. Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful rooms in the world, The Michelin-starred Ritz Restaurant features a magnificent frescoed ceiling with west facing windows overlooking Green Park beyond. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, with a 'Live at The Ritz' Dinner Dance on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Ritz offers, most famously, daily Afternoon Tea service which has been popular since the hotel first opened. The stylishly updated Rivoli Bar was designed by Tessa Kennedy and features Art Deco styled interiors. Open daily with a bar menu. The Ritz London is a Grade II star listed building and in 2002 became the first hotel to receive the Royal Warrant from his Royal Highness The Prince of Wales for banqueting and catering services.

We stayed here for two nights this week for my wife's birthday. I had notified the hotel of this in advance, so she was surprised when she found a personal birthday cake in the room complete with a single candle and....... a box of matches? Where were the 'elf and safety people?

I don't really know what I can say about this hotel that hasn't already been said before. The service throughout is immaculate.

Our room was very pleasant and spacious. The bathroom was well equipped. Bowls of fruit were brought for our consumption and complimentary Ritz Water was placed in the room each day.

Service and drinks in the Rivoli bar were excellent. If you ever get the chance you really must try the Ritz Club Sandwich in the bar. OK, it's £25 but you've probably never eaten a sandwich like it before. Just amazing.

Breakfast was served in the main restaurant and was very, very good. You could have whatever you wanted and it was always cooked to order just for you. There's no pre-cooked food here. Plenty of fresh orange juice and tea or coffee from silver pots.

My wife used the gym on the 7th floor at for an hour at 7.00am each morning. It's not very big but has sufficient equipment and she was the only person there on the second day (and only one other person there on the first day).

The only downside of our visit was that, due to Covid, the table numbers in the restaurant had been reduced. As a result, we were not able to dine in the restaurant as it was fully booked for the following 7-8 nights. I really think that, as good customer service, the hotel, at the time of my booking, should have pointed this out and given me the opportunity back then to book a table. But, it didn't and I simply didn't expect to be turned away from the restaurant as residents. Never mind. I must check for that situation next time.

It was without doubt the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed at but it was worth every penny.

We were fortunate enough to have been given a voucher for a night at the Ritz with a breakfast. Clearly a beautiful and elegant building with many attentive staff. Booking in etc very professional. Our room was well decorated, spotlessly clean but also basic in that essentially there was a bed, TV and an ensuite. No coffee making facilities which I have come to expect.

When we attempted to get a drink downstairs, a table wasn't immediately available. Fair enough, but we felt uncomfortable in the way we were asked to wait. On enquiring we found we could have hot drinks delivered to our room at a cost of £15. When we raised an eyebrow at the excessive price we were given a complimentary table of drinks and a tray of cakes delivered to our room. The message is complain, but when the room has cost over £500 for the night shouldn't a "complimentary" drink be expected?
Our breakfast was served in the dining room which is very elegant and the waiters attentive. The buffet was excellent, but not greatly better than less expensive hotels. The choice of hot meal was very limited-omlette or full English. We both had the latter but my enjoyment was lessened by the absence of any gluten free sausage. I had informed them on booking about my diet. Anything over and above these two alternatives were charged an extra fee.

Overall we enjoyed the experience, but I wouldn't be in any rush to return. There is a lot of show but it is not worth the money charged.

What an experience!
That’s how you should look at afternoon tea at the Ritz. Yes it’s a lot of money for sandwiches and cake, but add in the ambiance, the fantastic staff, the building and when we went, the beautiful festive decorations and you have a trip worth every penny.
On arrival you are greeted by the door staff who will direct you toward the Palm court restaurant, you can leave your outer coat in a cloakroom before you are guided to your table. Once seated, sit back and just soak up the atmosphere. You will need to choose your preferred tea, and that’s about as stressful as it gets. You will be asked about any dietary requirements and then supplied with your glass of champagne, a selection of sandwiches and cakes and your chosen tea. Don’t think what you see is what you get, oh no, if you do see off that selection of sandwiches, your waiter will be there with the offer of more. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Fresh tea keeps coming and, in our case at least, as soon as your cup was anywhere near empty, it was topped up.
There is a time limit on the tables, but you’re not rushed and you know before you go that sitting there all afternoon is not an option.
This was a COVID restricted trip for us, we will go back and do it again when we return to more normal times.

The moment we walked into The Ritz the staff were very helpful and kind, upon checking in with Jessie, she upgraded our room from a Superior King Room to a Junior Suite for our birthday treat, the room was amazing, it had 2x Tv’s walk in cupboard, mini fridge, safe, hairdryer, lovely big suite sofa’s, The bed was really comfortable with a side pillow and a hard pillow, Still & Sparkling water, in the large bathroom we had shower, bath, bidet, his and hers slippers, bath robes, shower gel, hand cream, shampoo, conditioner, hand sanitizer, cotton buds, razor, toothbrush, nail file & shower cap. The room has air conditioning. This room was amazing.
If your a guest you can walk into this hotel with trainers on until you get into your room but if your coming into The Ritz your not allowed trainers no matter how much they cost and if you want a drink or a meal men must wear dinner jacket & tie, no jeans or trainers allowed

We arrived on March 7 and were greeted by a very helpful hotel employee. The staff were very helpful and we were shown our Queens room, the bed was extremely comfortable and the marble bathroom was huge. The room was tastefully decorated. The only thing missing was the standard kettle & tea and coffee,I rang room service to ask but was told it would be £15 per day to have a kettle provided,so decided we could manage without!!?The breakfast was superb with fruits and all the trimmings. We viewed the private dining rooms that looked fabulous.
My partner was celebrating her birthday and a cake was in our room when we checked in.
When we were leaving I was greeted by name by one of the conciege staff.
Summing up .Fantastic Hotel.
Wonderful staff, wish I had a billion pounds to buy from the Barclay Brothers.

The Ritz London is world famous for its Afternoon Tea and it did not disappoint. Me and my sister, took my mom for a surprise to celebrate her birthday. Sadly, due to Covid-19 this was cancelled, however we were lucky enough to make it in September and even treated ourselves to a night stop over!
From the moment you arrive at the hotel the service is impeccable! They ask you your name and whether you have a booking, take your bags and inform reception inside of your arrival. The swiftness and ease of entering the hotel and checking in to our room could not be faulted!
Let me also pre-warn you, no matter how many photos, movies or documentaries you watch about The Ritz London will prepare you for the grandeur and history of the building.
The wide corridors, tall ceilings, antiquated furniture makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time. As you walk down the main entry, on your left hand side is the magnificent Tea Room, absolutely stunning.
A lady gave us a tour of the hotel and all i5 had to offer, the tour was made memorable with her extensive knowledge and humour!

The hotel room was stunningly grand! As it was my mother’s birthday there was a beautiful Happy Birthday cake waiting for us. The room was clean, offered plenty of storage and provided us with simply items such as slippers, robes, toiletries and hairdryer.

The Afternoon Tea was amazing!! The food was excellent, the sandwiches and cakes were beautifully presented. They offer a nice selection of sandwiches, including fresh salmon, chicken, cheese, cream cheese and ham. As a group we are not a huge fan of fresh salmon, so instead they provided us with an extra couple of sandwiches to replace the salmon. You can choose between just Afternoon Tea or Champagne Tea (of course it would be rude to say no to champagne!). They offer a selection of teas depending on your tipple! The best part of the Afternoon Tea was the warm fresh scones which were provided! Clotted cream and Jam were also served.
The bar in the hotel, The Rivoli Bar, makes you feel as though you have stepped back to the 1920’s, the bar offers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for pre-dinner drinks or a little nightcap before bed!
The hotel is not just a hotel but an experience, one I will not forget! Even though this was a ladies trip, the hotel had a mixture of guests which they are extremely experienced in looking after.

A must visit!

Booked a mid week 2 night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What makes this place special for me is that you are made to feel truly welcome and not just another guest.

We dined there on the first night in the Ritz Restaurant and had cocktails in the Rivoli Bar before dining. The Rivoli Bar makes the enjoying of cocktails really special.

The dining experience at the Ritz was one of our best Michelin Star experiences and was in no way rushed. We were in there from 8:00pm until 11:30 which means we must have been enjoying it.

The piano music and the female soloist will transport you back to a bygone era in a dining hall which I doubt has changed much since the 1920s, which is superbly maintained.

We were back there the next morning for breakfast which did not disappoint and once again the staff make it just so special.

The staff here make you feel special, treat you as if you are the only person there and not just another number, looking forward to returning soon.

Had the pleasure of spending 3 fabulous nights at The Ritz hotel London. Charming reception and easy check in with executive king room offered on top floor (7) with views of London Eye and great city icons. Room was recently refreshed with beautiful marble bathroom and luxury amenities. Fully stocked minibar and options to order in room coffee maker or Nespresso machine for small daily fee. Although I’d opt to spend my entire day in the famous Rivoli bar or restaurant. Continental buffet breakfast is amazing with options to upgrade to full English breakfast for only £10 additional. The concierge members are wonderful friendly and very knowledgeable. All Ritz staff are pleasant smiling and ready to help. The hotel is in great proximity to shopping and tourist attractions within walking distance or a short taxi ride ( tube station is less than 2 mins walk). I also noticed the hotel is family friendly although please be aware of the dress code policy in certain areas. A must stay for anyone wanting to feel the glamour and royal prestige with grace and opulence. Thanks to all who made my stay memorable at The Ritz hotel London.

Having stayed here recently to celebrate my partners birthday I felt compelled to provide a review. I will state from the outset that we are just ordinary folk earning a modest wage, therefore I was somewhat reluctant to stay at The Ritz as I feared I'd be judged, but how wrong I was. From the moment you arrive you're treated like royalty! All of the staff we encountered were incredibly kind, non-judgemental and courteous (A special mention to both Michael and the gentleman on the door).

Check in was a breeze and we were personally shown to our Queen Superior room, which was located on the 5th floor. I will add the 1930's lifts are very small and cosy, but were readily available when needed. No waiting for a lift at the Ritz. Our room was as expected, 1930's opulence, but with all the mod cons and home comforts of 2020 you'd expect in a five star establishment, including a large TV with Sky movies etc. The queen size bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was equally as welcoming, albeit slightly tatty in places, but clean and functional nonetheless. A good nights was had.

Being a non tea drinker I did find the concept of afternoon tea a bit daunting, not to mention the strict dress code, but I needn't of been concerned. The palm court was exquisite, as was the service. Our food was replaced without being asked and there was plenty of it. However it was very ordinary. My partner, who is somewhat of a tea connoisseur, stated the tea selection was very varied, but like the food no 'WOW' factor.

In summary, whilst the service is indeed five star certain elements of the hotel are not. Our bathroom would certainly benefit from a refit and the sandwiches, scones and cakes were average. However you're paying for the privilege to stay at the Ritz and the first class service that lies within and on that front alone it certainly didn't disappoint!

Birthday treat from my lovely husband to come here for the dinner/dance eve on a Saturday. We didn’t stay over sadly in the hotel but would have loved to! It is the most beautiful hotel/restaurant I have ever set foot in and we have seen a fair few beautiful ones in our time!

The staff were so welcoming and elegant dressed in white tie attire. The wine book was insanely long!! We opted for a couple of bottles of red, some bottled water and the 4 course meal. Both our menus (vegetarian for me) were sublime and well worthy of the Michelin star. My favourite was the pumpkin gnocchi oh baby and the Raspberry coconut souflee quite frankly was like s*x on a plate. Even the toilets are beautiful and the grand piano playing West End hits in the background was just the cherry on the cake. There was a live singer who was excellent and reminded me of Tony Bennett then 2 professional dancers treated us to some dancing - I wish they were on for longer I adored their tango to Roxanne! All in all it was the best night out of my life and I will return for their famous afternoon tea.
