What a place! Dark, damp and depressing! That's just to start! The people who live upstairs resemble a herd of Wilderbeast, running back and fore and shouting (non British), slamming doors 1am and 6am every day, it's still being built for heck sake, man holes that are covered with wood, and for the builders out there look at the way... The pictures are not at all reflective of the current status of the very tired apartment we arrived at yesterday. We booked for location, to take our children sightseeing. We accepted that all of central London is expensive but expected simple cleanliness and at least to be able to sleep (I'll come to that). The collection point for the keys... More

We booked an apartment for 5 people for a long weekend though booking.com. Overall, it did its job, but there were a number of issues: 1. The place was not where it was indicated on the map, and in fact it is in Farrington Street, which is busy and loud all though the day with traffic and metro nearby. However,... More

The apartment is very nice, clean and there is no surprise. It is much better than the pictures. It is well located in London but just a bit far from the underground station (Farringdon or Chancery Lane). Otherwise there is a bus station very close to the apartment which takes you to many places of London (bus N° 19).

Terrible customer service. Confirmed times to check in to apartment. They left me standing around on my own in central London after a 18hour day for over an hour. Tried to call and speak but nobody was helpful and refused to put me through to a manager to sort something out. A load of Cowboys and if I could give... More

I booked for two nights on another site. I was aware that I wasn't necessarily going to be booked into the listed accommodation. When I arrived at the address for check in (a 15-20 minute walk from Euston) the staff were quick, efficient and provided me with detailed directions to my accommodation. As I was planning to walk, they phoned... More

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. Inaccurate advertising and dishonest practices, avoid at all costs. During our very short dealings with the company we had a long list of concerns and had noted many other people arriving to be faced with the same problems. 1. We had reserved the Chancery Lane Apartments but were told that our booking didn't exist... More

It was confusing at the start as we booked an apartment on Laystall street, had to go to check in on King`s Cross Road, but got the keys to an apartment on St. Cross Street - the pictures we saw in the booking were not from the apartment we got. But the apartment was fine, good for a quick stay... More

going for a three day event in Clerkenwell can be gruelling, however, coming to an apartment where you can relax like your own home is great. you cant seem to do it in a hotel. The key collection was from a new office (near Kings Cross (5 mins )) and only a 10 min walk (or £5 cab) staff were... More

I have to say, I was very shocked and surprised, how does one ends up booking a place in Chancery Lane area only to be told via confirmation email, the keys have to be picked up from Kentish Town. Huh? That`s miles away, requires 2 changes on the tube and no one in their right mind would pick this accommodation... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
