This is a lovely hotel - a great first impression going through the door, really well looked after and smart. Nice bar downstairs that is open 24 hours and great for a night cap.
The room (a king) was a good size but the bathroom is a glass cubicle inside the room - absolutely no privacy for you/your roommate! The cubicle is so small that the sink it outside the cubicle. The shower itself is fabulous - powerful with a big head.
The bed is very comfy, linen and towels and soft/new feeling.
Considering the location (so convenient for KingsX) and we were facing the square, there was no road noise or noisy people outside (on a busy Thursday night) so perfect for a good sleep.
I would prefer tea & coffee making facilities inside The room.
But would definitely stay again

We chose to stay at The Gyle on the evening of the day we were supposed to get married this year (our wedding has been delayed by Covid). We had a such fantastic time! The hotel is beautifully decorated with a fresh and unique style and we loved the cool bar area with the swinging seat. Everything was spotlessly clean. It was easy to check in and very near to Kings Cross St Pancras station which is handy. We stayed in the Feature King Room with Vaulted Bathroom, which was absolutely gorgeous and really good value. The bathroom is as big as the bedroom and the deep bath and rainfall shower were brilliant! The room came with a big bed and the staff kindly decorated it for us with towels shaped like swans and petals too which was really kind and much appreciated. There was also a massive TV and the lighting was lovely. You can hear people outside if you have the windows open but it is quite a quiet street and not too intrusive. The room had a fridge, hairdryer and wardrobe/drawer space for clothes and we were able to borrow an iron too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a continental breakfast in our room too which was nice. We will definitely be visiting again!

Just stayed in this quirky hotel for 10 days right next to King's Cross station and I must say we thoroughly enjoyed it! It has a modern interior decor and the room was just the right size for both of us. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room but all kinds of teas and coffees are available at the Toast and B&B lounge 24 hours a day! Breakfast eats are available for those who want typical english fare to start the day.
Be prepared to be entertained by fast music whilst at the lounge and the reception is manned by friendly staff all day long. Definitely a very comfortable hotel with the basic amenities. Highy recommended.

So I am glad I read the reviews, they were all true. The second bed is only suitable for very young children, for my daughter of 11 it was a terrible bed, where she could feel the springs. The kitchen is nice, but really under equipped. For example there aren't four breakfast cups. We had bad luck with the shower being cold one day, they offered us to shower in a different room and gave us complimentary breakfast, which was an excellent solution. There was a lot of noise from the room upstairs, people walking and talking a lot in the middle of the night. The location is perfect, you can find the underground station really close.

Firstly the location is spot on. Minutes away from Kings Cross/St. Pancreas so easy to access anywhere in London. The exterior of the property is beautifully maintained. The interior is just amazing. The design and architecture that has gone into it is exceptional. Our room (17) was a twin with private courtyard. The room was very big with sitting area (sofa, chair, table). The TV is huge and perfectly placed. The bathroom had been very well thought out. The shower room is separate to the toilet/sink so everywhere doesn't get steamed up. The shower is one of the best I've ever used. The mattresses are very comfortable. There is storage under the beds as well as the wardrobe. Still and sparking water is in the room fridge. The lighting is very good and again very well thought out. The courtyard was lovely and very unusual for London Hotels. Fresh air can flow into your room through the French doors instead of feeling all stuffy. The air con/heating system worked perfectly. Throughout the public parts of the Hotel there is so much to look at. You see/hear something different every time, from the salamanders on the ceiling to the cloud lights and chirping birds. Although we enjoyed our breakfast I don't believe it would suit all. Having read the website prior to booking I was aware it was a continental breakfast so no shocks there. All in all, for what it cost us, this Hotel is well worth staying at. We will definitely stay again.
My only negative comment would be in such a high spec/modern room I was surprised there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It would have been nice to make a drink first thing and sit out in our courtyard. (There are all day facilities to make drinks for free in the TOAST Lounge).

Read the bad reviews! I thought it would be ok but The noise outside the hotel windows is 100% true. Hardly slept for 5 days while every night until 5/6 in the morning the homeless and others in the park drank alcohol listened to music and shouted and screamed. Hotel has no sound proofing so no chance of an early night or lie in as you can here the people above and below. Even when they flush the toilet! Do not accept room 1! Your headboard backs onto the main door and hall. You hear everyone entering and leaving! Be aware! NO ROOM SERVICE, the “bar” if you get served had very little. The bottled water in room is tap water in re-useable bottles! All the comforts from a normal hotel stay were missing. we were going to book the standard hotel round the corner and when we went to the rooftop bar there we were gutted that we didn’t!

The rooms were nice enough and the hotel is well kept, however we unfortunately booked the hotel through booking.com and the complicated nature of the website meant that we thought that breakfast was included in our two rooms that cost around £450. We had also booked this more than 6 months in advance. It also said “Breakfast 7-11” on our booking, and this is what we were told upon arrival. Our experience that followed was very different. Having arrived at the hotel on the Saturday evening and having a train to catch at 9am the next morning, we arrived in the restaurant at 7:30am on Sunday wanting breakfast. We were informed breakfast actually started at 8am, we couldn’t touch anything until then despite it all being displayed on the side. After being told that we could have some pastries to accommodate our time schedule, we were aggressively stopped by another member of staff who told one of our party to put the pastry down. Another member of staff ran over to us and then informed us that despite what our booking said, and the expensive cost of the room, we did not have breakfast included in our fee and it would be a total of £60 for 4 people. This restaurant did not even serve hot food, it was all pastries and continental. Feeling frustrated and angry we were ushered away from the restaurant, where we did not bother to hang around and this prompted us to check out immediately having been treated in such a rude way. We will not be staying here again - for £450 for one night and two rooms it is insanely overpriced with some incredibly aggressive staff. £60 for some pastries and cold meat for 4 people is a complete fantasy - and this hotel needs to sort out their booking system asap.

We had problems checking in, our room was not ready despite us arriving at 15:00 and we had asked for check in at 13:00. We did not get a second key card for the room. Before arriving we had been bombarded with e-mails about online check in and downloading an app to use for a room card. When arriving it turned out that this was not needed.

The breakfast situation was weird, some sort of combination of selfserve but having to ask to get a small basket of bread and a single glass of orange juice. On the other hand the coffe was excellent. Also during breakfast there were two or three of the cleaning staff sitting around near the breakfast area, right outside the bathroom. Does the hotel not have a room for the staff?

My partner booked The Gyle hotel for my 30th Birthday (28th August), what a treat!

We struggled to find the hotel at first as we thought the road was closed, we called the hotel and ask for help as we were down a different street. We spoke to Steven on the front desk who was more than happy to direct us to the hotel, we got a bit lost and called back again and we asked if he didn't mind coming to find us and jumping in the car to show us where to go.

Steven is an absolute diamond, he showed us the route and where to park. I am glad we got to meet him as his shift had finish as we called the front desk, but he was still willing to meet us and make sure we made it to the hotel. He then offered to take our bags, he kindly showed us to the front desk, while making conversation with us about our stay and what we were celebrating, he was very enthusiastic about describing the hotel and all its features, very polite and helpful. Steven was delight, to be greeted by such a warm and welcoming person on arrival made our evening start off so special, he even made sure he wished me Happy Birthday and hoped I had a great night. Its hard-to-find people who take a genuine interest in your stay and plans, so Thank you Steven!

We parked right outside this pretty little townhouse building, parking was free until 8.30am, which is not bad if you willing to wake up and move the car. My partner is an early bird so no problem for us.

After Steven, had helped us with our luggage, he then handed us over to Olly, such a lovely man. Olly checked us in showed us around the hotel, explained everything we needed to know he was so bubbly and funny. Olly was very helpful, great cocktail maker too and made sure we had everything we need.

The Hotel is stunning! I love green so I was in my element. The bar was quirky, and the swing was very cool. solid oak flooring, vintage mirrors, Scottish textiles. The
I had a little look around while my partner finished checking in. I love the fresh moss on the ceiling ,all the little trinkets look live they have been collected over the years.

Olly showed us to the room. Wow , I was lucky enough to stay in Feature King with Vaulted Bathroom which has a sunken bathtub in the bathroom and a rain-dance shower.
Our room had a Smart TV with a Smart Tablet, air conditioning, Safety Deposit Box, Arran Toiletries.

The bathtub was easy to use, and the shower was pure bliss, An airline trolley is repurposed for your bathroom toiletries and includes a hair dryer. The bed was extremely comfy, and we had a great night sleep, black out curtains keep the room nice and dark. We ordered breakfast on Deliveroo and enjoyed this in bed, relaxed and enjoyed our late check out.

I couldn't recommend this enough; I had an extraordinary stay at The Gyle and am looking forward to returning. Thank you again to Steven and Olly for making our stay special!
