2023 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
Renowned for its elegant central Piazza, charming independent market stalls, vibrant street performers, and for having some of the best luxury shopping and fine dining in the capital, not to mention being home to the world-famous Royal Opera House and West End theatres, Covent Garden is one of London's most enchanting and inspirational destinations. The Resident Covent Garden is just a 3-minute walk from the main central Piazza (and within a 5-minute walk from both Covent Garden and Charing Cross stations), providing an oasis of calm right in the heart of the action. It offers 57 stylish and thoughtfully designed contemporary bedrooms, each featuring bespoke furniture hand-made locally in West London, luxurious throws and cushions made from natural fibres woven on the Isle of Bute, Scotland, and special edition Paul Smith Anglepoise lamps, as part of the brand’s focus on quality British design and craftsmanship. They each also feature our signature in-room Mini Kitchen.

Covent Garden location can't be beat! This hotel is perfectly situated for theater, restaurants, shopping, and transportation access. Extremely friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Extra security doors make it feel extra safe too. Good beds and toiletries although the bathroom is quite small. Nice, lowkey happy hour is included. The only negative we found was the location of the hair dryer. It's somehow attached to a drawer in the closet and isn't easy to figure out. I also missed having a bar and restaurant on site (even though we were well aware). With so many nearby spots and pubs I thought I wouldn't miss it, but I did. Love having a nightcap or breakfast at my hotel. If that's not a big deal for you, this is a perfect spot. Loved the neighborhood!

Hotel's Favourite
This was our first trip to London, so we wanted to pick a hotel that would be centrally-located so we didn't spend hours every day just commuting to our destinations. The location for The Resident Covent Garden turned out to be absolutely perfect! There are multiple tube stations within a short walk, hundreds of restaurants and shops, and if you want to see a show it's right in the theatre district. In terms of food, I should add that you can choose anything from quick takeaway bites like kebabs, fast casual establishments, all the way up to Michelin-starred establishments. You could also choose from Italian, Greek, Asian, British, French, Jamaican, Turkish, and just about anything else you can think of. Should you happen to have forgotten anything essential at home, there are also multiple stores nearby (Boots, Tesco Express, Superdrug, Sainsbury Local), which was great since we had our 8-year old son with us. As far as the hotel itself, we found our room very spacious (especially by European standards), and the built-in USB chargers were helpful (we brought enough adapters with us but some people may not). The Nespresso machine and mini-fridge was a lifesaver, as I really need my morning coffee with real milk to get going. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the fifth floor and it was so quiet you would have never guessed that we were in such a busy area of central London. There are only two minor nitpicks I can think of. The first is that the doors for the kitchenette didn't shut properly, so the light remained on (it turns off when the doors are closed). We engineered a DIY solution and in fairness we never mentioned it to the staff. The second thing was a few days while we were out, we indicated on our door that we were not in our room. Despite that our room was not serviced that day. For us it didn't matter because we simply reused our towels and any toiletries were supplied promptly upon asking. But some guests may have disliked being skipped for a housekeeping visit. Overall we were extremely happy with this hotel. We were there for 10 days and after a long day visiting museums and seeing sights, it really felt like a nice, comfortable place to retire for the evening. When we return to London this place will be right at the top of our list!

Response from Patricia Segurola - Hotel Manager, Other at The Resident Covent Garden
Responded 24 Aug 2022
Dear NicolasM807, Thank you for sharing such a lovely 5* review! It gives me joy to learn that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us at The Resident Covent Garden and that you found everything to your liking. It is also great to read that our location was perfect for your needs and that you had such a great stay with us. As you mentioned in your review, we are blessed to be located right in the heart of London! All our 57 stunning rooms are equipped with a mini kitchen including a kettle, Brita filtered water, good selection of tea, mini fridge and my personal favourite the Nespresso coffee machine. I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that we can also arrange a fridge fill on your next stay with us, simply let us know in the pre arrival and we would be happy to stock your fridge with delightful food. Thank you for mentioning about the issues you found during your stay with us. I wished we had been made aware of those earlier so that we could have found a solution straight away. Our dedicated reception team is available 24/7 to help you with any issues or requests you may have. Kindly accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this might have caused you. Thank you for your kind comments about the team, it means a lot to us. I look forward to welcoming you back soon! Kind regards, Patricia Hotel Manager

The staff! From the moment of booking through check-out we had absolutely unbeatable support from the front desk. They really are exceptional - professional, competent, and friendly. Honestly we have never seen such service. And beautiful, clean rooms in a great location. We will recommend it and return without question.

We have just returned from another fantastic stay at The Resident, Covent Garden. From the moment you step through the door you are made to feel so welcome. This was our fourth visit and again, it didn’t disappoint. From the cleanliness, which is evident in all areas of the hotel, through to the friendliness of everyone you come into contact with. This really is a very special place to stay and we will definitely be returning…..for visit number five!

We had a fantastic stay at the Resident Covent Garden. The hotel is ideally located in London's West End (5 minutes from Covent Garden). We love the Covent Garden Apple Market and Piazza, and we went there almost every day during our trip. We also saw several West End musicals, which were within a 5-10 minute walk of the hotel (a few musicals were literally right around the corner from the hotel, so less than 2 minutes away!). Many major sights (National Gallery, Courtauld Gallery, British Museum, Trafalgar Square, London Eye) are also within a 5-15 minute walk from the hotel. There were numerous transit options to/from the hotel. We took the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow Airport, and both the Leicester Square and Covent Garden stops are a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Many buses run along the Strand (right outside the hotel) and are very convenient and easy to use. In addition to the Leicester Square and Covent Garden tube stops, the Embankment and Charing Cross stations are within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel staff were all very welcoming, courteous, and accommodating. Our room (junior suite) was extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable. We made good use of the in-room refrigerator, microwave, clean and plentiful dishes, and hot water kettle. The staff were very attentive and prompt whenever we had a special request or need. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Resident Covent Garden, and we hope to return to the hotel in the near future! We could not have asked for a better hotel for our London vacation!

Very central, wonderfully warm and friendly welcome (big shout out to Joanna). Lovely bedding and though the room was small, it was beautifully clean. Nespresso machine & GHD hairdryer was an excellent little extra! Would recommend 100% this hotel

Home from home when having fun in London. We returned for our third stay this year. As always a warm welcome as we stepped through the door and of course a well appointed and comfortable room at the best price in town. The friendliness of the team members is unsurpassed in our opinion. Whether it's Tommy or Himalay on reception or any member of the hard working team everyone is keen to please and smiling from ear to ear. Having missed the happy hour cocktail Tommy spotted us as we returned much later only to rush behind the scenes and produce a night cap on our way to bed. Sweet dreams and ready for another fun day in town. We are so impressed with the Resident Covent Garden we will need to visit the other hotels in the group very soon. Do try it if you can and of course whisper it to your best friends too......... Rod and Debbie.

The Resident Covent Garden was a great hotel and we have enjoyed our 2-night stay a lot. The location is very convenient, right next to Covent Garden with lots of restaurants & bars nearby and the hotel itself was just perfect. The amenities provided was superb and the mini kitchen equipped with Nespresso was very convenient. The team was very friendly and helpful during our stay and we really appreciate the pleasant surprise for our honeymoon occasion. Not to mention the nice little touch of evening drinks where you could enjoy a glass of red/white/prosecco every night! Thank you again for everything especially to Eva and the lady who checked us in, you guys were great, and we will definitely be back when we visit London again! :)

Great Hotel and staff, well located. The hotel is close to Covent Garden but also allows access to the river, Trafalgar Square, etc. So, it’s a great place to set off from and explore central London. Staff are friendly and professional. Very helpful when needed. Rooms were comfortable, stylish and well appointed. Bed was great and we slept well (not always easy to do in Central London when there is always some outside noise at times!). Hope to return.
