Stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. Since my work space was in this area of the city, south of the river I opted to book this hotel. Upon check in I was pleasantly surprised with the room itself. A very comfortable bed, a nice work desk and a bathroom with a fantastic rain shower. Complimentary coffee and...

my husband booked this hotel as a surprise weekend away using a voucher code so got a good deal. He based his choice on the word 'boutique' in the hotels blurb. He did well. The hotel is in a great location just a few minutes walk to both London Bridge and Bermondsey tube stations on the Jubilee line. We were...

The lady on reception was fantastic. We had a little problem with our key card for our room and she dealt with it with no fuss. The room was very clean and comfortable but the shower room smelt funny, almost like stagnant water but i think this was down to the water grate for the shower and not lack of...

I called in to this hotel when it first opened. Simply to have coffee and a bar snack so I have no experience of the accomodation. I loved that it was dog friendly and the efficient and polite hospitality made it a great space to simply sit in. This evening I arranged to meet a friend in the bar for...

Thank you for your feedback and please accept my apologies for the problems you experienced during your visit to the hotel restaurant recently. These have been directly addressed to the team. Following the hotel sale in November 2014, our new owner indicated his preference for not selling alcohol and therefore a huge investment into the property was made and we...

As my wife and I were booked for an exhibition at the Fashion and Textiles Museum we randomly selected an hotel nearby. What a discovery it turned out to be. From the moment that we walked into this hotel we liked the atmosphere. Very friendly and accommodating staff, excellent double room, faultless cleanliness and perfectly situated for our needs. We...

For a hotel so close to London Bridge, it was very comfortable with spacious room and friendly staff. Our view had a great view of the Shard. Lots of restaurants close by and Sainsburys Local opposite entrance to the hotel.

Lovely hotel which I visited when it opened several years ago. Now when you enter there is no reception! Just a scabby desk. We walked through the restaurant and back ignored by the staff. Walked back outside to check this was the correct door which it was so went back in and the check in chap arrived with his lunch...

Stayed a week at the beginning of February 2017 and felt very at home. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is handy, clean and the food is pretty good. I was attending a workshop in the area, so didn't have much time to explore London - though it only took 10 minutes to walk to Borough station. As...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
