Lovely central hotel if a little noisy. The room was clean but there were things like the soap, and glasses that should have been in the bathroom that were omitted. Staff were Professional and courteous without being friendly ....I will use it again but for the location rather than the comfort.

all the services provided was very good. The room was always clean and the sleep quality was very good. The pillows and the bed was awesome. The best thing is this hotel is the location, near underground and DLR.

I stayed here for 2 nights recently on a work visit to London. On arrival (13:30) I asked if my room was ready and was told it was ....I asked to check in and was told I would have to pay £10 to check in before 2pm. There is a very strange smell in this hotel (A mixture of greasy,...

Clean, comfortable, basic, no trimmings. Sound proofing good. Reception staff excellent, friendly and professional. Buffet breakfast average. What let's this location down is the evening food which despite few guests in the evening was slow to be served, cold when delivered and of very poor quality, with no apology or alternative option offered. We ate elsewhere for the rest of...

Very nice stay and really enjoyed it. Great staff, location and food and they looked after me. The room was slightly hot and a bit noisy but apart from that is was very good value for money and pleasant.

Stayed for the weekend for my husbands 60th Birthday. The room was nice and clean and everything you needed. Breakfast was a buffet style and constantly being filled up when trays were empty. Close to the tower of London and easy access to Tower Hill underground. We really enjoyed our stay. If we knew about dropping off luggage it would...

Stayed here for business - hotel was fine although a bit shabby and basic as Travelodge's usually are. The service was very odd though - when we arrived to check in the receptionist openly laughed at how much we'd paid for the room (!) and later sent some people wandering off into the night to find a cash machine because...

Stayed for a night while in the area on business Standard accommodation and room. Decent enough self serve buffet breakfast. Great location for Tower Bridge - right next to DLR and Tower Hill tube Plenty to do on an evening in the vicinity - pub next door and a Wetherspoon 2 mins walk. Try St Katherine's Dock if it's a...

You can never fault Travelodge. The facilities are basic but always up to scratch, friendly staff, clean hotel, good breakfast, lovely bed, everything you need. However, our room was on the South side of floor two and was probably 10 metres from the railway. It was seriously loud. It wasn't just "shut the window and it's alright" loud, it was...

If you want to be close to The City of London, then this hotel is fine. It looks pretty ugly from the outside, but the interior is clean and well maintained. There isn't a view from the windows, you'll look out over either the DLR or a main road, but the rooms are comfortable and it's only a stone's throw...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
