Before we went, as usual I read the reviews and prepared myself for small rooms, flights of stairs to walk, rude staff and compact breakfast room. We did get the compact breakfast room, it's too small for a hotel. It felt over crowded and could hardly move when you are sat down. The food was ok though, what you expected...

I think we were not the only ones trying to have breakfast in the ridiculously small breakfast room (chairs piled back to back) who regretted our choice. Cheap in all ways. Unfriendly "staff", noisy and small rooms. Etc. Etc...At check-in, we were told to pay in cash or get an additional 30£ fee if we paid with credit card. What...

Had a single room which was small as I expected. Width about size of 2 singles but enough space. Turned off plug-in radiator as room warm enough. No wardrobe but plenty of hooks behind the door. Tiny shower, toilet, but very clean and shower was great. Tea and coffee plus kettle, which I filled with the cup as kettle awkward...

Have to say, wasn't expecting a great deal when booked for just £47 per night per room including breakfast but have to admit i was pleasantly surprised. Staff were very welcoming and the hotel was very clean. Decor looked a little tired and breakfast was a tight squeeze and limited in choice. Overall, for this kind of money, and 15...

Room was a bit too hot, but over all clean. Breakfast is served in tiny room, and was difficult to sit in same table our five person group. Maybe would not return. Also could hear neighbour room noise by nights and a lot of traffic noise.

Hotel was so much more then we expected. Great room, no view but that was ok. Comfortable beds and everything was very clean. Very close to the carnival. Nearest transportation was the bus, about a 10 min walk. Will book again for 2017!

We stayed here for 1 night yesterday and would stay again if needing a hotel in London. The location is perfect for heading into the West End or for a day of sightseeing everything is near by. The tube station (notting hill gate) is only a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is quiet and clean. The rooms are a...

For the price and location this place is a bargain. Not fancy but clean and service with a smile . People will moan but you get exactly what you pay for and a little bit of brekkie for your bucks. Close to Hyde park.

As everywhere in the core parts of London this place is overpriced and undersexed. The bathroom is accessible only via the hallway and weekly cleaning service did a less than proper job. None of this too bad if The Collective organization had been honest and open about issues and a few other things. Furniture looks new on photos, but desk...

Well, there is so much to tell: the managers were extremely impersonal and unfriendly. When we drew their attention to the fact that our bathroom doors had no locks and no hooks, they said they had had the locks removed intentionally to improve the security and safety of its guests! Can you beat that? The breakfast area was totally cramped...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
