Stayed at this hotel through our booking with Edwards Coach holidays. Location was very good. We had buffet style food which was very good. Only downside was the awful queue for breakfast. Stay here regularly on business, The location is excellent for the city centre, the views of the Liver building and Mersey are excellent. Even if your room does not have this view the restaurant does. The tower where the bedrooms are is a triangle and on each floor there are six large rooms (2 at each point of the triangle).... More

As ever a very good Thistle hotel,ideal location,fantastic staff.no car park but we went by train.check in was fast,breakfast was self-service with plenty of choice.why this review has to be 200 minimum is a bit daft so I will waffle on a bit.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. we were greeted by cheery friendly professional staff at reception, so a warm welcome right away. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and my room on the ninth floor overlooked the Mersey. My room was well equipped with a flat screen TV, heater/aircon unit with a remote control and a non slip mat to put in the bath while showering. I always have one in my case as too few... More

Ive stayed in the Thistle on 2 occasions and definitely would stay there again. The rooms are brilliant and if you can get 1 with a view out over the Mersey even better. The beds are very comfy and the bathrooms excellent. The staff are always very helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. Would highly recommend for couples
