I've just spent 4 nights in this hotel and whilst Mrs Brown might describe it as, 'Niiiiiiiceee,' it's not as bad as some reviews would have you believe. I have no doubt that in it's day, the Adelphi was quite a place. Now, yes, it's a bit tired, but it's not the worst place I have ever stayed. My room...

Hello and thank you for your comments after staying with us for 4 nights. I agree our rooms cannot be described as modern, but yes they are clean and our beds are comfortable. Our heating is centrally controlled and there has been the odd cold spell when guests have asked if we could turn the heating on, unfortunately, it would...

Anyone who knocks this hotel misses the point! Outdated elegance was a joy to experience. The building is wonderful and so worth an explore. The original features are absolute quality. Yes there is wear and tear in places but an authentic and stunning marble basin is such a joy even if chipped a little. Room 354 was quirky, spacious and...

Thank you not only for your lovely comments, but also your 4* rating..... I would agree wholeheartedly with everything you say. The Adelphi is a wonderful building and worth a visit to check out the original features and stunning marble. I am delighted you were able to have a peek into the Harold Wilson Suite, he and Lady Wilson were...

I can't understand some of the rewiews of this hotel , in our double room right now , and it's big and clean , the restaurant is really nice , and the food was faultless, of course the rooms look a bit dated , the hotel is over a hundred years old ! , much better like this than a...

Thank you so much for your lovely review, saying it as it is..... I too cannot understand some of the review I read on this site, especially when I investigate them and find no fault with the room they are complaining about..... We would love to welcome you back and please email me with your arrival date and I will...

A one night stay for my wife and myself over the 'Cunard Weekend', which of course made Liverpool a very busy place, which can often result in poorer service, etc. Certainly not so our short visit to the 'Adelphi'; the staff were friendly and helpful, the room small but clean and perfectly adequate and the Crompton's Restaurant meal superb. The...

Hello and many thanks for taking the time to write your comments after staying with us during the 3 Queens visit to Liverpool. I am delighted that like so many other guests, you read the negative reviews on this site and did what so many others do.... ignored them and came to try us out for yourself. It was a...

The glamorous lobby and lounge area is just beautiful. The tall ceilings and marbled walls gives the wow factor. The staff are well trained, friendly and well informed about the local area. However when booking online, you would have to sit and wait for over an hour until the booking has come through because their system is out dated. Security...

Thank you for taking the time to write your comments after staying here last November. It was lovely to read how you appreciate the architecture of the building and agree we do have a 'wow factor'... Our staff are very knowledgeable of the area and particularly those who are not local, explore the city in their own time so they...

I needed a hotel in Liverpool on a Sunday night and as my late wife had bought me an excellent dinner in the hotel on my 21st birthday in 1968, when I was able to book a single room for just £34, I jumped at it. The room was clean and tidy, but there wasn't a working light bulb in...

Hello and thank you for your comments after staying with us earlier this month. I do not understand nor agree that this hotel is 'the worst hotel room ever stayed in', because frankly I read nothing in your review to substantiate that title..... A call to reception would have rectified the broken light bulb and the remote control and I...

Stayed overnight midweek with my wife. Hotel itself is very elegant and is well worth a visit, just for the decor in the main body of the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated now but adequate for our needs. Staff where very helpful, unlike some other 'upmarket' hotels we have tried. Evening meal in the restaurant was was excellent...

Not remotely impressed with this hotel. Strongly recommend you stay elsewhere as there is an abundance of decent hotels in Liverpool. Good points: Good location and very near Lime St train station (5 mins walk) Wave bar had very cheap drinks and friendly and helpful bar staff. Clean bedding and towels. Luggage could be left for no charge. Decent tea/coffee...

Thank you for your comments after staying with us recently. I am sorry that despite quite a few 'good points' they were outweighed by the 'bad points'. Whilst I am sorry you had to wait for 20 minutes to check in, we always have 3 receptionists on duty, so the delay was not down to the hotel being lack with...
