I stayed at The Castleton for 2 nights over the weekend. The host, Simon, was very accommodating & friendly! The bed was comfy and room quiet, so got a goods night sleep! The hotel is lovely and comfortable. Simon who owns the hotel is lovely and gave us loads of advice of what to do and where to go on our stay. The breakfast was fantastic. Stayed at the Castleton for the weekend with close friends, room was very comfortable, stayed in the purple room which had a nice new ensuite bath/shower room, very comfy bed and nice decor. The hotel was very accommodating, enjoyed relaxing in the lounge area. Very enjoyable breakfast. Hotel manager was very friendly and helpful. Would defo stay again and recommend....

Booked for our anniversary we stayed in the Purple room the ensuite with bath and shower had just been refurbished and i must say it looked lovely all colour cordinated and sparkly, Simon even put Ballons up in our room! breakfast superb!!

Well was really let down the photos show how lovely the Castleton is and it's not true it was very grubby on the outside inside was just ok room was just ok to I won't be returning needs updating very quickly

Thank you Elaine, All the photo's were taken 06/10/2015, there have been several major storms this winter that have really taken its toll, Winter is not the time to renovate the outside hence we started refurbishing the En-Suite's as we believe that inside comfort and convenience are much more important than outside aesthetics!!

Thanks Jason for your comments, Please see images of newly refurbished En-Suite with both Shower/bath combination( as a lot of people prefer Baths), Not cheap Lino as you suggest but Expensive Non-slip commercial flooring (I agree about carpets in bathroom),Curtains replaced with Blackout Roller Blinds.. Artex removed newly painted ( feel free to come and help me remove the Artex...

Simon is very friendly and very helpful.Breakfast was lovely,tasty and served super quickly.We will return when the rooms have been updated ,as the room we stayed in was a bit 'tired' but still enjoyed our stay.

Xmas this year was moved to Blackpool, as sleeping at family home was not posible we decided to use a B&B. We were made to feel very welcome. The ensuite double room was very clean and cosy. The breakfast was excellent and very filling. Will be using it again when we come back later in the year.

This is a really quaint b'n'b, with fabulous decor. My room was clean, tidy and the bed really comfortable.
