Don't let the pictures fool you. The hotel is old and very dated. Looking around I don't think it has had any renovation work ever. In our room the paint was peeling from the walls, the carpet looked as though it had never been cleaned....More

It’s an absolute Flea-pit. Dirty, shoddy, cold and needs to be knocked down. I wouldn’t stay there again for anything or anyone . It’s rancid and anyone that says otherwise either has no standards, or is deluded.

There are some guest houses a bit further from the sea front but still in central locations .... No names spring to mind but I'm sure you could do a search on here somehow .... You're right about the Big Blue though .... Apparently they are building further hotels next to the Big Blue but expect them to be the same .... I suppose I tolerate the Norbreck because it has some nostalgic value for me and to be honest I don't really spend much time in there anyway .... It's just somewhere to eat and sleep .... I think the problem there really is a lot of the guests .... Irresponsible , rude , letting kids run riot .... I understand holidays are supposed to be fun for kids but there's so much to do and see in Blackpool and I don't understand why people stay at the hotel all day .... They treat it as if its a multi-storey caravan park !!!
