We stayed on room 5 over Easter. Pleasant room with stunning views over the surrounding hills. It was Really good value for money. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was also excellent; good quality local ingredients well presented. Would recommend this hotel!

My Fiancé and i recently stayed at the Rum Doodle on another trip to Bowness/Windemere. The Rum Doodle is situated ideally between both of them and is located off a side street near the Windermere Boutique Hotel which makes it an ideal location as it is away from any traffic noise. The car park is a moderate size and we...

Booked a night away as a surprise for my partner's birthday and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. We were welcomed in by Emma who showed us to our room, which was stunning. We stopped in the 'Summit' room, and it was a spacious room, beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious, which an excellent choice on offer. This is...

We stayed here for two nights. The owner was very welcoming and gave us cake when we arrived, a nice little touch. We had room 9. This place is really charming with it's theme/shrine of 'The ascent of Rum Doodle book. The location is great, 5 minute to either Windermere centre and Bowness on Windermere. The staff were polite and friendly, it's a well kept place and the blueberry pancakes for breakfast were warm and fresh. The only discomfort I got was from the bed in...

We chose to stay in the Rum Doodle after reading the reviews on here, and I am glad we did! The B&B is so quirky - we stayed in room 7 which was a nice size. The breakfast was fantastic, and I thought the fresh coffee in the bedrooms was a nice touch. My only slight issue was that the...

We stayed here for a weekend away in the lakes. Gregor gave us a very warm welcome with a complimentary glass of red wine, and nibbles, which was very much needed after our drive from Wiltshire! Our room was very comfortable and clean, we can't fault it! We loved the quirky decor and the stories behind the name Rum Doodle....

Arrived for a weekend away Room nice enough although not plush. The bathroom was a let down and in need of refurbishment. Breakfast nice and fresh The cost for a bed and breakfast seems high The location isn't bad but it's in the middle of a housing estate Walking to either bowness or Windermere takes around 15/20 mins. We only...

You may have booked via Booking.com which is always a bit more expensive than booking direct. We're not in the middle of a housing estate - it's a quiet residential road of mainly Victorian properties. Most of our guests like the fact that we're off the main road and in a quiet street yet it's walkable to restaurants, bars and...

From stepping in this quirky B and B me and my husband felt right at home. Checked in and offered a cup of tea and slice of home made cake....carrot and it was to die for! No rush what so ever we say back enjoyed our food and then we're taken to the loft room, which I'm sorry I can't...
