Called in to the Wild Boar for Lunch this week, on the recommendation of my parents who visit regularly when in the Lakes. The bar is warm and welcoming with open fires and comfy leather chairs and the staff are friendly. We asked for a table for two and were shown to a table in the bar area near the fire...

We had a great session, clay pigeon shooting in the morning then lunch afterwards. Mike was a great teacher and it was great to do the activity and then be pampered with great food and service at the Wild Boar. Great combination! Would never have found the pub if we hadn't search for the shooting but will certainly be back...

Stopped here for a couple of days during the school holidays. We've been before and like it. We ate in the first night and it was so good it prompted us to book again for the second rather than go in to town. It was nicely busy here. Bit of a disappointment at the start of our stay when we...

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel recently and we were both teLly impressed. It has a quirky, individual feel and the food and staff were fantastic. Beer was great, room was lovely and you can get a taxi into Windermere and bowness and go for a walk round which is nice. Would definitely go there again.

Our stay at The Wild Boar was a Christmas gift to ourselves. The 2 night B&B deal with the 1st night evening meal included offered very good value for money. The restaurant was so good the first night that we had a meal there on the second night as well. Very convenient location with Bowness a short drive away. The...

The Boar Inn is Fantastic, on arrival the building looks a little tired and odd due to various extensions. However reception greets you with a roaring fire in winter a well stocked bar and very friendly staff. The room was sizeable well equipped and the bed super comfy !!
